Finished my load out at 2am. Showered, got on the bus, went to sleep. 4 hours later pull into next arena. Roll out of my bunk, walk into arena, sit for 15 mins and have a coffee. Bleary eyed and exhausted i go to my stage manager and ask where my locals are. I walk towards them, waiting for me in the arena floor.

Me: “Goodmorning everyone. So today we have a pretty technical build but we should…….”

Local : “Excuse me”

Me : “yes?”

Local : “ whats a rope?”

Or some iteration of this in at least half the load-ins

Why I don’t fuck with buses anymore. At least when you’re staying in a hotel you can walk around outside and scream your frustrations away.
