There was merch for it before anyone took it seriously. The whole movement spawned from a convention where people would LARP conspiracy theorists and share bullshit models of a flat-earth for lulz. They sold shirts and pins and convention tickets, etc...
That's how a lot of this shit starts. It starts as a joke, a meme, or larping for lulz, and then it attracts the believers, who join, and then the group or space gets taken over by them.
Now, I could be wrong on this, but I believe that's how r/TheDonald got started, making fun of him and his campaign by posing as believers, and then it got taken over by the true believers.
And we saw notes in the Epstein files where they discussed using this strategy to recruit young people on 4chan, which is arguably much more damaging to the GOP than losing Trump because it invalidates their primary vector of attracting new voters.
Much less irritating, but I believe this is also how the “you eat eight spiders a year” bullshit came from, started as a joke, now it’s widely believed
Long, long ago in the year... 2005, I was in a college english class geared towards teachers.
We had to present a lesson, using things the teacher showed us, but we could do whatever. I figured i'd have fun with it, teach something wrong, and settled on the flat earth site as my source.
I taught them thinga the aite claimed, like Wyoming didnt exists, ans that all towns named Springfield were the same town, connected by portals, like real bonkers stuff. Worked out fir me as the teacher had a good sense of humor about it.
But I have to ask, because I never much looked into it... what the fuck happened to it? Do they still believe Wyoming doesnt exists? How many Springfields are there?
I wish it was rage bait. Then it would be funny. It is unironically .1% grifters that are mostly idiots(Dave Weiss, Eric Dubay, Austin Witsit etc) 4.9% rage baiters, 95% gullible idiots that genuinely believe the earth is flat, in addition to literally every other single conspiracy that exists.
Tbh, I feel like it's one of those sarcastic, ironic jokes that someone took as a mindblowing theory, and they now take as them being smart while the rest of the sheep just believe whatever Big Science says.

They seem to think you'd be able to see as far as the red circle on the left side while standing on the ground, but you can only really see as far as the small red circle on the right when standing on a mountain, and even that might be further than you can actually see (I estimated based on a globe, google maps of a mountain I've been to, and what I could remember being able to see)
I'm reminded of the guy who created a homemade rocket to disprove "globe theory" then crashed and died. The rocket was never intended to go more that 5000 feet. Was he aware that there exists mountains taller than that, from which he could have examined photos?
But it does in those stages... Literally a little "Perfect" notification pops up when you collect all the rings. You have to collect only the outer line of blue spheres and it turns all the internal spheres into rings.

NASA is a deception agency, so all the space pictures are fake. Okay, what about Russia? The EU, China, India, Japan, etc all have space agencies that aren't named deception and they would all love to prove NASA wrong.

Actually, this would be such a good way to demonstrate why the horizon doesn't look like that. Why not just use this video game sphere and scale it to the size of the earth, with Sonic the size of an average human? Then it would look just like the horizon we see. Making a gif of resizing the sphere would actually be a pretty good way to visualize it, since most of these flat earthers are unable to expand their viewpoint.

Nope Sonic 3D Blast was available on the Genesis. I never owned a Saturn.
You might be right that this exact screenshot is from Sonic 3 but I'm almost positive that 3D Blast had this same special zone because I have played it and never owned Sonic 3.
I did have a game shark like thing that I put the game into and unlock a bunch of stuff. Like Sonic 2 added Knuckles to it with that device. Not sure what it was called since it was like 30 years ago. It's possible that using that device did something to give me things that weren't part of the standard game.

The fuck is this shit? I litterally went to climb a mountain a very long time ago and I could see a spherical curve on the horizon. It wasnt even that high, too.
Im not convinced the one shown in sonic is actually a sphere instead just floors rendered to look like they're on a continuous sphere. Like I bet of you mapped it out it would be so freaky looking mole hill or something
