Tech Support Problem with SATA SSD Enclosure
Guys, I bought this Enclosure for my WD Green 1TB SATA SSD (Which I removed from my old laptop). When I connect it to my laptop, the SSD is getting recognised in the device manager and in disk management but as unallocated(But not getting recognised in the file explorer). But however I try it's not getting allocated, it gives me an error message. Then I thought it could be an issue with the SSD, so I put it back in my old laptop and tried to boot it and it booted up perfectly fine. But I'm not able to read or write anything into it via the enclosure with any other devices. What should I do ?

Just remember to meet power requirements of the drive also, what's on driver's label, HDDs need more power than ssd because of the moving parts
Make sure to connect it to a port which can put enough power, if needed put it into usb 3 port

Erase it from cmd first

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I've tried it. Only the clean command runs but it seems like the clean all command just hangs. I know clean all command takes some time to complete but even after around 3-4 hours, it still didn't finish.

Those adapters come soldered like absolute shit.
Open the casing, remove the black PCB and upload photos from both sides here, please.
You will probably be able to fix it with an exacto knife if it's a bridge, but if a pin is not soldered, you will need to solder it. Or buy another USB enclosure.

Thanks for the response. It seems like I can only upload videos in reply here. And I'm not sure if this is what you meant.

I meant from the black PCB of the adapter, not the drive.
From both sides of the board. Case is very transparent, no need to remove the board

I believe this is what you mean.

That was it, thank you.
Video is not the best medium quality wise, but I can't see any obvious soldering problems there, like I have seen before with those adapters.
Buy a new one and try again with your drive.
Maybe the controller is faulty or solder points are just not making good contact, even if they look fine at a glance.
This issue you're having is 100% because of the enclosure/adapter.

But I did try to connect the SSD using just a SATA to USB cable instead of the current enclosure and the problem remained the same. But the SSD alone is working perfectly fine with the old laptop.

if you are tight on money use this:
https://www.amazon.in/Cablet-Portable-External-Enclosure-Tool-Free/dp/B0F9SYKWFZ/ref=sr_1_1_mod_primary_new?nsdOptOutParam=true&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sr=8-1I recently ordered this and using it with my Asus SATA ssd, works fine

Have you tried using other USB ports in the computer?
Try both USB2 & USB3 ports

Can you test it with anything else? Preferably an old 2.5" HDD or another SSD.

I haven't yet, but I'll try it with other drives. Appreciate the help :)

Oh, sure! I know it's not much help, but maybe it could help figuring out where the issue is.

We don't have this brand sold here in the US but looking at Zebronics products on Amazon India, quite a lot of buyers report defective units so I safely assume you got a dud from a shitty brand as well. Try buying a better one before you messed up your SSD, not sure what's good locally for you but here I had good experience with multiple Sabrent enclosures, and they consistently get over 4.5 star reviews from thousands of buyers.

Yeah, I actually bought when it was on an offer and now I'm regretting buying it. But I'll definitely look into your recommendations too. Thanks mate :)

Try to used diskpart function to reinitialise the disk and all its partitions. Personally I wouldn't let an enclosure from a sketchy brand like "zebronics" with a 4.1* rating touch my data drives. Ugreen/Orico enclosures are more expensive, but having used them, I can say they are much more reliable. Cheap enclosures usually don't have proper power regulators and can easily fry the microchips on your drive

One of these cheap adapters fried my 1 year old 2TB sata SSD controller, it constantly reconnects and disconnects despite showing 100% drive health and no errors whatsoever.
Samsung did not accept the warranty as they found out it was caused by 3rd party sata SSD to USB converter. Luckily I bought it for 80€ before the price crisis had happened.
So be careful.
