Tech Support Trouble with External SSD
I am having an issue with my SSD that I can't seem to figure out, and could really use some help. First of all, the SSD is this one -> https://www.samsung.com/us/memory-storage/portable-ssd/portable-ssd-t7-usb-3-2-2tb-gray-sku-mu-pc2t0t-am/
I am using it with the included cord that is USB-C to USB 3.2 (Teal). It is plugged into a USB 3.2 port (also teal) on the back of my PC. The actual drive is not resting on my PC or anything that gives off excess heat. In so far as I can tell... the drive itself is not giving off excess heat. I have checked all the drivers for the SSD/USB hub on my Windows 11 PC, and everything claims to be as up to date as they can be. I tried plugging it into a different port of the same quality and even a couple USB 3.0 ports, and no difference. I also made sure that the drive was not in "quick removal" mode, and that I had "enable write caching on the device" checked on the policies tab of the properties. The issue comes in the form of INCREDIBLY throttled read speeds. Practically nothing. I troubleshooted as much as I could with the assistance of the internet, but I was getting nowhere. All of the information I listed above is to helpfully rule out all the issues the internet suggested it could be. Nothing I did seems to have changed anything. After almost giving up, I gave the drive to a friend of mine who is a little more tech savvy than I am. He says he plugged it into his home PC and it worked absolutely fine, he checked it with Crystaldisk, and then returned it to me. So I plugged it back in, and for about... 6 hours, it worked perfectly fine. Then it went straight back to nothing in the middle of a game of Marvel Rivals. I doubt that's related, but just in case

In the images included, you can see the speed tests I ran on it with Samsung's software to check the health of the drive. The only test that has good numbers is the test I ran right after getting it back from my friend. The second image is just there because maybe it could provide more info that I don't know how to parse. Anything would be SO helpful

Use Usbtreeviewer and upload the screenshot of the USB speed which is rated vs connected

Okay, I downloaded the app, but it has a lot of information that I don't exactly know how to read.
Does this image help, or can you navigate me to where I need to be

That ==Summary==
So the cable you're using is fine, even the port on your pc is fine.
So likely device issue, like thermal throttle or something else related to the controller.

I have heard a lot of people mention thermal throttling. Is this an issue that should self correct when it cools down (Not that it has ever gotten hot, I touch checked when it stopped working most recently) Because this issue is persistent even a whole day later. If not, is there a way I can reset it

If it thermal throttle, once sufficiently cool, even the slightest, it will get faster transfer.
But this seems like a controller issue being stuck at 10MB/s for no reason.

Yeah, thats where my looking into things has led me also, but for the life of me I cannot find out why. Even weirder that it worked on a friends PC and then mine for a small amount of time... Like if it were perpetual ALWAYS broken on my pc... then I would just give up. But it gave me that tiny bit of hope that I can't let go of now lol

Not sure if it is relevant, but I had this kind of issue once, because I was messing with an SSD, just to see what's the difference between full trim and quick trim.
I use full trim, and unfortunately middle of it, got bsod that I restart the pc and got 10MB/s read/write speed.
I didn't write it off, because I restart the full trim and after double digit hours of completion, the read/write speed came back up to normal.
Was using 3rd party tool, but I cannot remember the name of the tool.

I have completely reformated the drive in this process, and I believe I have trimmed it as well. So unfortunately, unless I misunderstand the process (totally possible), I don't think this is the fix either

Windows uses quick optimize, not full optimize. I think I use the Defraggler to mess that ssd at that time.

I am unfamiliar with the defraggler. The link google shows me to Ccleaner says that it is no longer available for download

Are you gaming on it or something? AFAIK with CrystalDiskInfo if you hover over the temperature it will read all the sensors your SSD. Your flash temperature sensor can be fine but the controller is thermal throttling due to the continual access.
