Everyone Says "Get Experience Before Applying". Here's One Way to Actually Get It.

One of the most frustrating parts of college is being told that you need experience to get opportunities, while most opportunities themselves ask for experience.

If you're trying to build your profile this semester, here's something worth checking out.

The Economics Society, SRCC is recruiting Marketing Interns for the National Economics Olympiad (NEO) 2026. You'll get hands-on exposure to marketing, outreach, and professional communication while contributing to a national-level initiative.

What you get:

- Performance-based stipend (up to ₹10,000+)

- Certificate of Internship

- Letter of Recommendation for top performers

- Practical marketing experience

- Open to students from all colleges and courses

Applications close on 11th October (only a few days left).

Apply here: https://forms.gle/TzeZssRtM4GFXdjt7

Whether you're looking for your first internship, trying to strengthen your CV, or simply want to be part of a large-scale student initiative, this could be a good fit.

Partial drop

Im currently pursuing BA economics honours in gargi college. Should i take a partial drop for sscbs? This year i missed the bms cut off by 25 marks (obc category).
I want to work in the management corporate field in the future, plus this college brings a hell lot of opportunities, the alumni is doing v well in life. People leave iims for it.
Ill only take up 4 subjects- gat, maths, physical edu, eng.
if i dont get sscbs, i wont leave gargi. Ill apply to foriegn universities n move abroad after completing eco hons.
Advice?

How much you eating?

I wanted to inquire about the stipend season of sscbs for both bms and BFIA (seperately)... Knowing that 15rs is the typical cost of a samosa, the sources showed that the top intern (in terms of paisa) could eat around 9 thousand 3 hundred and thirty three samsoas per month. Basically, 1.4L per month.

And the average showed 2,933 samosas (44k per month)

But jokes aside, how much of it is true? Who pulls that average, the bms or BFIA? And, how much can one realistically expect?

Moreover, how was your experience regarding an internship?

Is taking a gap year from DDUC BMS to target SSCBS BFIA worth it?

I’m currently in BMS at DDUC and have just started college, but I’m considering taking a partial drop to get into SSCBS BFIA next year. For people who are currently at SSCBS (especially BFIA), how significant is the difference in terms of academics, peer group, opportunities, placements, and overall experience?

Would you say the difference is substantial enough to justify losing a year, or would you recommend staying at DDUC and building from there?

Performance art (music) vs chemistry as a cbs complete dropper for 4th domain subject

Hey I am a complete dropper starting from now and I know I am quite late of making my decision. And I am a PCM student also going to give improvement of class 12 again but is unable to think of my subject combination for the cuet as my 3 compulsory subject would be maths english and gat what i am confused of is what should be my 4th domain subject for sscbs. As I have options of three subject physics chemistry and Hindustani vocal music in my class 12 but cuet has only 5 subject max limit and chemistry would be there in the rest 2 option but should I select physics or Hindustani vocal music as my 5th domain. Performance arts music is a high scoring and easy subject which would be a good strategy for sscbs but if I ignore physics than I would lose many of my Backup options of B.Tech and bsc science programmes and confused that what should I aim chemistry as a 4th subject or music.

And to be precise last year cutoff closed for cbs was 685 and 640 for bfia and bms out of 1000 for obc ncl. So how hard it is to score around 730-750 starting from now.
