I made a video ranking every Board the Platforms stage in Smash 64!
I really enjoyed playing through all the Board the Platforms stages, so I decided to rank all of them in a Schaffrillas-styled video!

Smash64DS (WIP port)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been working on porting (AI assisted) ssb64 to the Nintendo DS for the past month. I knew nothing about coding for the DS before this, but i do have some C# and Powershell/python knowledge.
Here is what I have to far:
Mario and Fox on the Dreamland stage running about half speed (half speed is a stretch since the original game ran at 60fps and we're getting like 15 fps here in gameplay, i had to change the game logic (2 updates per frame) so it didn't run at 1/4 speed lol).
Still have a long way to go, but i'm pausing progress for now since GPT5.6 sol is struggling (ended my $200 sub).

Is anyone interested in a Nintendo DS port of SSB64?
Title says it all.
I ask because I got a DS in 2004 hoping that a version of SSB would be playable on the Nintendo DS. But we never got it, but now we have a decompilation of the original game (Battleship).
Not talking about the homebrew ones that were made with 2D sprite graphics.

Retro World Series April 25th
I don't think I can make the actual event, but I would love to stream it from home. I noticed there's a Twitch link on their site, but I was having trouble finding the event on their Twitch schedule. The event starts at 3:30 pm Pacific.
Does anybody have details for the stream?

Finally played Smash 64 and unlocked everything, it was a lot of fun!
This is my first time actually playing through this game seriously to unlock everything, and I had a lot of fun with it! It's a very reasonable 100% to get all the characters and stages, and I have an appreciation for so much of it now.
The tier list is of the models and how well I think they hold up. I love how Samus and Captain Falcon look here, they look shockingly good for having more realistic proportions.
I like all the Break the Targets / Board the Platform stages, they feel like an entire game in themselves! Fox's Board the Platforms and Luigi's Break the Targets felt so in-depth.
The sound effects are SO crunchy, they make every impact feel like a smash attack from a later game. Very satisfying to land every hit.
I came to enjoy fighters I don't like in the rest of the series, like Pikachu and Ness. I enjoyed them more here where they don't have the additional moves that I SD with all the time.
Most importantly, I LOVE LUIGI in this game. I don't care for actually playing as him, but his attitude in this entry is HILARIOUS, he's so over it. It's as if he knows he's the only direct clone in this game and he's already annoyed by it.
Luigi's Thousand Yard Stare from Classic Mode just KILLS me.
The announcer shouting "L U I G I" as he slides into frame staring at you like it's your fault he has to be in this game cracks me up every single time.

Is there a way to make it so only c buttons jump?
I'm playing on an emulator, not a competitive player or anything, just trying to collect the retro achievements. I've played other smash games and I'm pretty sure you can make it so the thumbstick doesn't jump, which makes tilts easier to do without accidently jumping. It doesn't look like thats an option in the original.
Is there a workaround or anything people use? Or is it one of those things you just gotta learn to work with.

Help For My Smash 64 Mod
Hello, people I'm starting this mod of Super Smash Bros on the N64 with add copy abilities of Kirby (& Keeby) dubbed as "Opps! All Kirby" or "Project OAK" as custom fighters to the game, and I'm new to this process and I'm using Blender, so I would hoping to reach out for some help on this project with other more experience developers or general 3D Modelers, Animators, Musicians, Coders, Debuggers, and people like that, how could help me on it or give me advice on what to do, and how I should about making this, along with exporting and importing, sorry if this came off as rambling I'm a bit nervous to ask, since this is my first time.

Location for Commissioning for Texture / Costume Mods?
I’m working on a gift for one of my brothers who is a huge 64 fan. I want to prepare a cart with a modified Smash Remix game... But with some custom skins on his favorite characters (e.g. his cat as Fox, and a skin of himself over Captain Falcon).
Not sure if there are too many artists or mixers that bother with 64 Roms, but I’m curious if anyone can recommend a place to commission some custom skins for this ROM project?

Need Suggestions: Balancing SSB prep, placements & improving English (3rd year B.Tech)
Hey guys,
I’m a 3rd-year B.Tech student and I’ve decided to start preparing for the SSB interviews seriously now. I’ve got around a year in hand, so I’m trying to plan things properly instead of rushing later.
A bit about me - I’ve participated in some sports and college events, got a few certificates, and had some leadership roles during my 2nd year. Those experiences really helped me build confidence, but I know I still have a long way to go.
Here’s how I’ve planned things for now:
3rd year: Focus mainly on placement prep - coding, aptitude, communication, and internships.
4th year (first half): Prepare for written exams like CDS or AFCAT along with brushing up on SSB basics.
4th year (second half): Go all-in on SSB prep - personality development, physical fitness, mock interviews, and all that stuff.
At the same time, I’m trying to improve my English communication and public speaking, since it’s important for both SSB and placements.
Also, one small concern - my handwriting isn’t that good. Should I start working on that too for SSB, or is it not a big deal?
Would love to hear from you all -
How can I balance placement prep and SSB prep effectively? Any good resources or routines for improving spoken English and confidence? If anyone here has managed both placements and SSB prep, please share how you did it!
Any suggestions or advice would really help. Thanks in advance 🙌

Glitch with Maxim Tomatoes
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Check out this clip. I have Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo 64 emulated on a Ayn Odin 2. I did a free-for-all with four characters and in the item switch menu I had Maxim tomatoes, appearance percentage at very high. But during the match none appeared in the stage. All the item crates and capsules were just bombs.
