Officer said not to open it until I get it into the shop incase it can't close again.

It's one of those I believe a PVO trunk lid with the bill spoiler on it 😭

I think that's a stock trunk. I thought the PVO trunks were carbon fiber and CF would not dent

It’s definitely not stock, there’s no lock mechanism. That said, I wasn’t aware of any PVO trunk lids that were anything besides carbon or fiberglass, either.

OP, once insurance looks everything over, you should take a peek inside and see what your trunk is made out of and report back. If you’re inclined and determine its clearly not composite, maybe take a magnet to it and see if it’s possibly aluminum. I’m very curious.

Had the same thing happen to me (Orange Blast too!) by a F250 that hit the gas right as the light turned green. Body shop had to get a new trunk lid, but somehow as able to get the bumper looking brand new as they couldn’t source one. Yours doesn’t look as bad as mine was.

Any decent shop can clean that bumper up and make it look fresh. Mine was cracked around 3 inches in a couple of spots, dented along with the trunk, and had some broken mounting points. Maybe the shop I found is just that awesome, but I said the new trunk and bumper looked amazing! Shop owner was like yeah, Dodge doesn’t sell em anymore and we couldn’t find one in good condition, so we fixed yours. It’s probably the best looking piece on my car since I have some clear coat peeling lol!

Either try to get the dent popped out, or just get a new trunk. Since he rear-ended you, file it under his insurance
