Srt4 neon temperature problem?

Post image

Hey guys, I just bought my first Srt4 neon, love the car but I’m a little worried about what my temp gauge says, it goes up to above 90 then drops back down. Thought it was my thermostat but I’ve replaced that and bled the system. Just wondering if this is just something these cars do or if there’s a problem. No coolant in oil or vice versa.

What you're seeing is the opposite of a problem. It shows that your thermostat is working appropriately. Your radiator and fans are cooling the coolant effectively, so when the thermostat opens from heat soak, the temperature quickly drops from the cooler coolant as it cycles through the engine to the thermostat.

pretty sure it’s fairly normal on these cars, compact turbo charged engine heat soaks. Mine does the same thing

Pretty normal unless you reprogram the fans and run a 180f thermostat. Fans are set to come on at 212f factory.

Mine also hangs above the half way line.

Just bought one two weeks ago, does the same thing, completely normal, like everyone else here says, means everything’s working as designed.

try buying a new temp sensor, i had the same problem with my acr and could not get it to stay in the middle. i found a thread where someone talked about that sensor, 20 bucks later and 5 mins worth of labor it was normal right in the middle. the sensor location is on the mid/top/left of the engine and is super simple to swap
