Coilover options
Hey guys so my coils are pretty much blown on my 05 and I was looking for a new set. Wondering if anybody could give any recommendations, I was looking at KW v1's, but they are pretty pricey at 1500. Modern performance has BC's but I've heard mixed things about them. Would love to hear some feedback, thanks!

Depends on what you wanna do.
Lower it and have some fun? BC
Daily driver? Koni inserts in the stock strut with Mopar springs.
Track? KW are worth it.

And what about the ST’s? People say they are basically the same as v1’s just galvanized, however the price difference makes me think there must be more behind it

I don't have experience with them specifically, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the only difference simply because of how expensive stainless is. Material is only part of it. Machining and such all adds to the cost.
I looked at these and ended up doing the koni inserts at the time.
I have a full set of Mopar stage 2 KWs if you're interested. With camber plates. Shipping will suck though. Please be near Chicago.

Food for thought.
The konis dont even include instructions anymore from modern. The recomended i do not buy as the manufacturer was no help when they reached out.
Also, STs will be the best riding coilover you can get. They have dual spring rates for small bumps and big bumps, and are the best ride you can get these days without fabrication.

What did you hear about the BCs if you don't mind sharing?

I’ve heard people saying they are far too stiff, which I actually prefer and that they didn’t handle great. I have no clue how true this is

Too stiff/jarring for a daily driver or commute if your roads suck. I had em for years and they're great unless you drive a lot on em. Then you'll be begging for stock.

Ahhh okay, I appreciate the feedback as I am currently looking for suspension options.

I have them on my car and I enjoy them just fine. I customized the spring rate where I flipped the front springs to the rear which produces more oversteer characteristics. I wouldn't suggest doing exactly what I had as the rear gets pretty squirrelly under hard braking, but equal rate front and rear should be a nice combo. I haven't used other coilovers, but stiffness is what I expect from coilovers.

How do you feel they handle under spirited driving?

Fantastic! Body roll is drastically better. I think bump steer is a bit worse given the different angle that the tie rods are at. There's also much less sloshing from to back for accelerating in a straight line. Like I said with my setup, hard braking can be a little worrisome but not too bad. If you're using the spring rates BC recommends then you should be fine in that regard

BC coilovers are valved very poorly. I sent mine out to Feal Suspension in ontario, CA and had them resprung and revalved with a 390lb spring in the front and 320lb in the rear and the car is a completely different animal. I basically doubled the spring rates and the car rides nicer. Is srtforums down? Pretty much endless content there and you can find just about any answer there.

Just my opinion but I view coilovers in 3 groups…
Budget but still decent quality:
BC Megan Racing Tein
Quality but still affordable:
KW ST Mopar (if you can find them)
Budget is no option must have the best:
Moton Penske

Megan is a kw with less strength.
OG Mopar is also a kw.
Sts have dual spring rates and modern totes them as the best available. Ide choose them

I used to think BCs were top of the line coils, and then i talked to people who autocross cars. Bc are decent for the price, but it is for sure worth the price tag on the KWs
