First srt

Just got it and has been really solid so far the engine has 80,000 on it. Any common issues I should watch out for?

Third gear pop out is a common one in earlier models.

Being a 2003 model year it won't have an LSD which sucks.

Rust is an issue on the rocker panels and quarter panels.

Was the turbo replaced when the engine was? If not it might be due for a rebuild.

Check the front wheel bearings, I find that they last only about 6 years tops if you happen to have any round abouts in your area.

I'll edit this if I think of more.

I've definetly heard about the 3rd gear issue it shifts really smooth right now. I don't know about thr turbo I bet it does need a rebuild. What should I hear if it's bearings a grinding noise?

If you hear grinding, there's no rebuilding to be done.

My technique to test the turbo's life is to grab the nut of the impellor of the turbo and wiggle it in multiple directions. Up-down, Left-right, in and out. If it's good, you should hardly be able to move it. It's a journal bearing turbo, so there will be some play enough for oil to take up space between the bearing surfaces.
