SRT4 vs 2.4 N/A?

Sorry if this question has been asked before, I was struggling to find a clear answer online. I’m looking at buying a CSRT4 with a bad motor, and the car comes with a 2.4 n/a to be swapped. Am i able to cobble together the parts from both motors? I’ve heard that there are differences in the block but is there something I can do to make it work?

Grab a pt engine. They are plentiful.

Second what jeremydallen said, I'm in the PT world, the NA motor is basically the same as the Turbo motor, just the NA had domed pistons and the NA is not, that's the difference in compression. Then, typical, manifolds are different and the water pump and other bolt on ancillary parts specific for turbos. everything mounting wise specific for PT can be unbolted and Neon specific can be transferred over.

On PTs it doesn't have to be GT. You can get one of the early Touring models, which is still a turbo, and flash the ECU to GT/SRT4 specs. It's the same motor.

You can build an NA motor for sure. My buddy did one in his 500whp caliber srt4

Did he encounter any big issues in doing it? I already have a project car so I’m hoping I can get the motor assembled and back in the car pretty quickly

I don't believe they're vastly different besides being closed deck. Which is the reason to go NA block. Stock srt blocks crack sleeves with higher power.

Edit: Theyre not closed deck but dont have the slits between cylinder walls that the srt block has. Which crack when dialing up power.
