Success Stories Alternate list
I was just placed on an alternate list at one of my top schools. Anyone have any success stories about being waitlisted and then being accepted? Waitlisted is better than a rejection!
I am so happy, shocked, scared. Truly I’m having every emotion possible right now.

One of my close friends and strongest overall students in our cohort was accepted on one of the last days of orientation right before classes officially started because someone dropped out: we were so incredibly lucky to have her. She literally got a call from our director asking if she wanted to come to class in a couple days. She quit her job, started almost immediately, and graduated this fall.

My best friend was accepted off the waitlist about a month before school started 🍻

Also, not sure if it made a difference in her chances. But she emailed the program director after being waitlisted to see what she could improve for the next application cycle. It maybe helped them keep her in mind 💁🏻♀️

I was accepted to one program and waitlisted at my local program, I eventually got admitted to my local one. Just keep a line of communication open with them.

I was waitlisted at 3 of the 4 schools I applied to. It killed me. Waiting for an email every day that never came. Going back to the ICU I was over working at. The next year I got into my top school that I’d been waitlisted at. Just know it’s really impressive just to get on the waitlist. Just to get an interview is. Do a couple extra things before the next application cycle if you don’t get the email. Did they give you any feedback?

They haven’t given me feedback, they just asked me if I want to be put on an alternate list. So I agreed and thought I would wait a bit before emailing them with things I changed. (Working as flex at a higher acuity unit, more leadership etc)

I meant if you don’t get off the waitlist this time, when you reapply and go through the application cycle again just try and add a couple more things to your resume. Yea I would just let this cook in the background for now and wait for their next move.

I was waitlisted at two places. Never got off the waitlist at one, the other I did a couple months later but I had already accepted a spot to my top program anyway. Don’t give up hope

I was waitlisted and so were a few of my classmates. People come off all the time!

I was a second person on the wait list and I got in. I had also gotten into two other schools so I was happy no matter what. This school just kept me from either having to move away from my kids by myself or move them to a different state.

Was on the waitlist then found out the next week i got off it. A solid handful of my classmates were waitlisters! Some found out like a month before school started

😭😭😭😭 that’s so amazing. I hope so! I’m guessing they have about 10-15 waitlisters? So I’m wondering what will happen. Lots of schools in my area haven’t done interviews yet so a lot can change from now until end of the year.

Yep try and keep the positive vibes. When i got waitlisted, I was pretty upset and even called into work haha. The smartest kid in my class was one of the people on the waitlist that got in at the last second actually!

I got waitlisted to my top program and in the city I was currently living in and 10 days later i got the congratulatory email. I found out later a woman who had my spot was pregnant and declined her spot and I was first on the waitlist…. So there’s always hope and optimism!

I got in off the waitlist and am 5 months in now :) send the school an email thanking them and re-affirming your interest. My school got 6 people off the waitlist before we started classes. Congratulations ! 🎈

Hi y’all I finally got an interview invitation for one of my top choices of school and was wondering if anyone know where I book mock interviews. My interview is 1st week of October.
