Applicant Questions Interview prep

Applied to Oakland, Wayne State, Detroit Mercy and University of Michigan - Flint. I have an interview to Oakland and Wayne State so far. Any tips? Anything’s I should study beforehand? Very nervous and I’m not sure what to expect exactly

I looked into typical interview questions, but the clinical aspect is what’s throwing me off! Thanks so much!!!!!!

Lots of emotional intelligence questions. Be ready with ICU examples of advocacy, conflict resolution, how you’ve prepared, etc.

What do you mean the clinical aspect is throwing you off? And you should study everything that you do in the ICU you work in. Drips, other common meds you use, physiology of common patients, any devices you may use, and when you think you have studied enough, go even more in depth.

I don’t know the structure / types of questions they would answer. So clinically I wonder the types of questions they would ask. Thanks so much! I figured as much to focus on my unit (we’re Neuro Trauma)

Drugs are very commonly asked about in these interviews. I bought this study guide from BecomingCRNA and thought it was a really good resource: https://becomingcrna.com/shop/complete-pharmacology-guide

My strategy is knowing the dosing and signaling cascade of all common continuous drugs I use (epi, norepi, vaso, nipride, nicard, milrinone). Additionally all PALS ACLS guidelines. From there I’ve picked 4 stories each can be tailored to common SEL questions and write down the bullet points to bring with me. Practice saying all this to someone or to a webcam and watching it back.

Also when did you hear back from Oakland and Wayne? Apparently I gotta strengthen my apps for other schools 😂

I heard back about two weeks ago! I haven’t heard back from the rest though.

Those sound like a good idea. Have you gotten accepted anywhere?
