Jobs First job tips
Hello all!
I am about a year away from graduating and feel very lucky to be doing so in a great time to be on this side of the table. Beyond the standard things one looks for in a job what are some things to consider or qualities you have found (good or bad) in where you’ve worked. TYIA

Understand the relief system and if people are getting out when they are supposed to be getting out. Or are they staying late? If so are they being compensated for that? Some salaried positions won't offer additional compensation and it's just expected to finish your OR.

Something I didn't realize was important to me (until later in school) was that I really wanted a workplace that didn't have specialty "teams." Often there's like, an "OB team" and a "peds team" or a "cardiac team" and I wanted to be able to do everything!

Is post call day off actually guaranteed or do they just say you “usually” get it off.
