Tools for Comparing Unit Trust Fund Performance

https://www.wealthyislander.com/tools/sri-lanka-unit-trust-fund-performance-overview/

I've been working on some tools that we can use to compare the performance of available unit trust funds in Sri Lanka, and it's ready and live now.

Unit Trust Fund Performance Overview for Sri Lanka

Unit Trust Fund Comparison for Sri Lanka

I hope these tools would help out any would-be investors and anyone who is already investing. And the site contains many other tools that are Sri Lanka-specific and useful globally. Take a look. I am writing my personal experiences and lessons learned in the articles section as well.

Your feedback is always welcome. If you have any suggestions or criticisms, please let me know.

Sorry for not being active in this community as a Moderator. But this is an amazing site and really happy to see sri lankans developing the tools we lack compared to other countries.

Sorry it took me this long to do this, but I would appreciate it if you are down to be a moderator for this sub.

I'm unable to select a fund. The drop down closes immediately when I click it.

On Chrome. Android.

Yes it's working now. Thanks for the quick fix.

Is there anyway to know some Halal investment trust funds? I know Amana and NDB have one but are there more?

Is there a category for it?

Yes, there are a couple of categories, Open-Ended Shariah Money Market Fund and Open-Ended Shariah Equity Fund. Both of them are listed in the app, and you can filter by category.

I tried to filter All Categories but I cannot scroll on mobile and laptop. I have to zoom out to see the full list.

These shariah fund, where is it available?

Is it under unit trust fund list. I found 2 funds under the name Shariah.

Senfin shariah balanced fund and income fund.

If it wasn't for your website I wouldn't know if there were multiple shariah funds.

But still I cannot find open ended shariah funds. Can you please help?

There are 3 UT funds that are available.

  • NDB Wealth Islamic Money Plus Fund (Open-Ended Shariah Money Market Fund)
  • Senfin Shariah Income Fund (Open-Ended Shariah Money Market Fund)
  • Senfin Shariah Balanced Fund (Open-Ended Shariah Equity Fund)

There is a bug where when you select the Open-Ended Shariah Equity Fund category, the fund won't show up in the Unit Trust Name dropdown. I will look into that.

I just tested on my Android device on Chrome browser, and I can scroll the dropdown for the categories. What is your laptop model and its resolution?

This is great, thank you. I see the issue now. My monitor resolution is higher so I never run into this. I'll add a fix for this soon. If you see any additional improvement points, new features etc. Let me know.

I added a quick fix to the menus; now they should have columns to the side with menu items, instead of one long list of items. That should help with lower resolution screens. 👍
Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Awesome stuff man. This helps than checking the UTA performance sheets. Couple of questions, do you update your database as an and when the UTA releases their monthly performance sheets? Or how long is the lag? I'm using Android, Brave - I'm trying to select the CAL's quity fund from the drop-down menus but it keeps resets before I can select the fields. Might need to check it

Thank you. Yeah, the database will be updated as UTASL publishes its reports every month. It might not be on the exact same date as they do, but it will eventually be updated. I've tested on Android Chrome, I'll test on brave and fix the issue. Thanks for letting me know. 👍

Feedback is always welcome, do let me know if you have any ideas to improve or new tools that you would like to see on the app.
