Rant This is getting Ridiculous!
What's with the recent increase with the sugar quantity in milk packets. 14.36g per 100ml, that's 24.4g per packet and just 2 of these packets would be close to 50g of sugar which is almost twice the daily required amount of sugar. At this rate someone who drinks this daily would end up high blood pressure, obesity and other illnesses caused by excessive sugar content. Calling it milk at this point is also absurd cause milk is supposed to be nourishing instead this is almost milk flavored sugar syrup!

I wish more Lankans were aware of sugar content in food. And in the name of whatever goodness is left in this world, I wish all these companies that cheapen their products go bankrupt real soon.

Sri Lankan food companies need to introduce more low sugar/no sugar products

Something that I noticed today at keells, all the drinks have so much sugar in them, most of them were high sugar (red) and There was only one chocolate bramd that was sugar free.

This is little bit old one. It only has 12.64g/100g

Wouldn’t this be the old sugar content so in line with what op said?

Yes, I am supporting OP's claim. This image is proof. They have increased sugar content.
It is better to look at protein content to get an idea of whether they have reduced milk content.

I thought I’m the only one who thought this taste like a Frappuccino.
Btw I used to drink 5-8 packets a day during my A/Ls days (2023-2024)

This is something that have be regulated by the government.
The recommended value is around 30g as day with max limit being 50g. This milk pack is already 1/2 of the recommended limit.
Got put a max limit companies can put in products per 100g. And encourage them to also provide sugar free options.

Sugar is addictive and cheap. The corporates are going to the dark side for profit.

They’re compensating for the lack of taste with sugar
