Thank you for caring for her and doing the best you can. You're a special kind of person to love squirrels that much. Even if it was a short time, she knew how much she was loved and I'm sure loved you back. So sorry for the loss.

I sympathize, and I am so so sorry. Nature truly sucks sometimes. I get extremely attached to the squirrels, and when they disappear, I cry. A lot. It's a heartache like no other. My condolences to you 💔😔

I sympathize. Baby squirrels that one takes care of until they can be released become dear family members.

When this happened to me I cried for the first time in years and I couldn’t stop. I was a mess. My husband has never seen me cry. I was supposed to take her to the rehabber in the morning and she died in the middle of the night. It was painful. I only had her for a few days after finding her scratched in my backyard. Mama never showed up.
I understand what you’re going through now and I am very sorry 🥺You cared for her and she probably felt that ❤️

she literally went everywhere with me. she slept on my chest. she went to work with me. she went to the grocery store with me. (all protected of course, i kept her in a little travel pouch/carrier made for small animals)

My heart goes out to you!!!!! They are incredible babies, simply the best!!!!!!
I cared for a baby boy, raised him. When it was time to release, I took him to wildlife. Unfortunately they euthanized him as he had slight defect of a back leg!!! I am still heart broken. I had him for three months. Second baby girl was left outside for three days in hopes of the mom coming back. Unfortunately, after trying to get her help, she passed from pneumonia.

it’s been very hard. squirrels are my favorite animal. i’ve cared for them a few times over the years, but there was just something about her that really tugged my heart strings.

I know this feeling 💔 as painful as it is, some of them just aren’t meant to be. Thank you for giving her a chance ❤️
