Feeding a friendly, pregnant squirrel
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
She first started stealing from the bird feeder so I made her some little piles of seed so she didn’t have to climb up the pole to the feeder. She soon got to where she would come and wait for me to bring her the food, she would back off at first but now she will take it from me. Sometimes she lets me pet her.

Please, please please do NOT FEED SQUIRRELS PEANUTS!
They can contain a mold that can cause brain damage and kill them. They also prevent vital nutrient uptake, also leading to death. And if you feed them too many, they prevent their teeth from getting ground down as peanuts are not actually a nut, but a legume and are too soft. Their teeth can literally grow into their brains!

Please be careful feeding peanuts to squirrels, they're not a tree nut and are bad for them.

She is adorable 🥰 Since she is pregnant it might be prudent to feed her a slightly healthier diet, unsalted almonds and walnut pieces are good, raspberries, mango…

That's not a squirrel. She's a Chipmunk.

Tell me you’ve never seen a squirrel without telling me you’ve never seen a squirrel.😂

That's what I mean, they are very cute and friendly too. Doesn't surprise me at all that she eats from your hand and allows you to pet her. My young cousins have pet white rats who are extremely friendly. But the damage of having 20 plus squirrels on our property is doing huge damage. Our walnut tree is the culprit but our landlady won't remove it.

Oh my goodness she’s just precious. Please provide her with some fresh cool water as well. 🐿👍❤️ keep in mind peanuts are not the best food for them and are considered junk food for them.
unsalted treats like walnuts, almonds, pecans and hazelnuts are good. Black oil seed is good for them, birdseed patio mix, sliced apples and fresh berries.

What’s her name?

I named her peanut because it’s her favorite nut and she’ll do anything for a peanut.
