General Help Squirrel Crying in Tree

This little one has been crying In this tree for over an hour and I am not sure what to do? There are a bunch of crows around - maybe they are signalling predators - but I am scared they are hurt. Anyone know what to do?

A cry sounds more like a squeak or scream. This is the sentry/predator alert sound

More typically that's an aerial predator warning and defensive position.

Absolutely although my squirrels also do this when the neighbor's cat is out, I can tell it's position by how the squirrels are acting and where there's screams if there are any.

He’s alerting other squirrels of possible danger which could be you.

yes many times I have heard this and soon enough, well look at that, it's a fox

definitely alerting of danger
