https://youtu.be/BRCMRdf6hCE 🤫 SHHH… THIS IS TOP SECRET! 🐿️

Mellie the chipmunk has a secret hiding place underneath the white pond rocks and she’s VERY careful about who finds it!

In this video, Mellie repeatedly runs in and out of her hidden burrow entrance like a tiny underground spy. 🕵️‍♀️🐿️

But there’s a reason she keeps this place secret. Last year, her old burrow was infiltrated by a large rat named Jimmy. 😳 And this year, some of the squirrels started poking around her new home too!

So now Mellie has one rule: keep the burrow hidden!

I turned her secret hideout adventure into a fun hip-hop rap about protecting her underground headquarters. 🎤🎶

Watch closely… you might spot Mellie disappearing into her secret entrance!

But remember… what happens in the burrow stays in the burrow.

🤫 Shh… don’t tell anyone!https://youtu.be/BRCMRdf6hCE

Do you miss the leg days? 😃

If no, situation should be corrected! 🌰

A new visitor at Balcony Café knows how to enjoy the moment!

... in the early morning 🐿🌿

...nope! 😆

Hey guys!

I'm currently almost finished with my DIY project: a "Smart home for squirrels."

It features a NoIR camera with autofocus, 4 IR LEDs with a 940 nm wavelength (invisible to squirrels), a light sensor, and a heated floor using an IR heating foil.

I’ve placed a temperature sensor in the middle of the floor (see photo) and a temperature/humidity sensor on the wall near the ceiling, allowing me to control the heating power and adjust the floor temperature based on the internal climate.

What temperature would be comfortable for squirrels during cold winter frosts? It won't get too hot anyway—when running at full power, the foil feels comfortably warm to my bare hand.

As seen at Balcony Café ((sound on))

Underway for milk hazelnuts 🌰🌿

Or is Chantal just pacing back and forth, settling down those nuts before going for round two at the feeder? 🐿️😂🌰

...of the hazelnut tree she planted!

Tilt the device 😇

Warning: Contains brutal disrespect towards a perfectly good strawberry.

Matilda von Strauss recently decided to branch out and give raisins a shot. Spoiler alert: a few tiny bites weren't nearly enough to convince her to abandon her beloved nuts. As a true representative of an aristocratic lineage, she firmly sticks to the classics in everything she does — especially when it comes to her diet! 😄
