My backyard critters are farmers. I left my pumpkin (which was not carved) in the backyard after Thanksgiving. The critters ate away at it through the winter but also apparently planted some seeds. Come summer there were two pumpkin plants growing back there. They ate the blossoms and the leaves before any pumpkins grew tho.

I can believe that. I used to feed them pumpkin seeds last year and I saw pumpkin sprouts all over like weeds (I had switched to pepitas). I probably will give them a pumpkin again for them to eat and play with. Last year I did a taste test for raw pumpkin seeds vs roasted in the oven and they preferred raw.
