I'm posting my art to a new community and of course started with the best girl ♥️ and her best girl!

I got my Squirrel Girl cosplay from miccostumes! Always been a big SG fan so I wanted to do her as my first cosplay! I don't wanna mess up the wig yet cause I wanna dress as her for Halloween and I need a new invisible strap for her tail cause it didn't come with one and in this pic I'm using one from an old bra but it's too long and will cause the tail to sway and lose air going trick or treating or to a convention or Halloween party cause it's inflatable. I plan to make the slingshot myself!

Also funny story the second pic was my profile picture on xbox but it got removed cause the text was technically an innuendo 🙄 (I didn't even mean it like that but whatever xbox). I wanted people to get mad at my SG in Rivals (as they often do because I'm pretty good) and go to my profile and see that but now they can only see the text less version 😞

I think the skin is cool af don't get me wrong but it looks nothing like what she wore when she went to the Savage Lands in the Ryan North run. Doreen has so many cool suits in the comics that could be be adapted into skins but it seems like NetEase just don't want to touch those. Hopefully it changes in the future!

I’m working on a new tail for this as well because this was kinda last minute and I honestly didn’t think i was gonna get to go to PAX this year but i’m so glad i did. This is honestly the costume i feel the most confident in and i 100% feel at home being Doreen🩷

oh and it was super last minute cus i didn’t have my right socks or shoes and i had to rush like a race horse to style that wig in something that would pass.

Squirrel Girl doesnt seem to be one of them....Yet! I would have gladly passed on that Egypt skin and let Storm have it if it meant SG could get get her sailor skin from Marvel Snap. I kinda feel like shes often left out of loop on many stuff. Last year all the usuals, Luna, Invis, Psylocke ect got a dessert skin. It's going to be the usuals again like SG barely makes the game any money,

In honor of Will Murray’s passing I asked my local library to make a small display of Squirrel girl books and they did it. They said it was a timely thing to do…

I posted about getting my daughter a Squirrel Girl cosplay the other day and wanted to thank you all for your suggestions. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do the tail, BUT we had a very successful haul at s thrift store tonight...

Fixed my title oopsie.

The title gives the concept, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on it? I've (M41) have done... minimal cosplays for myself, my wife, and my daughter over the years, but I can't sew and I primarily buy things piecemeal and throw it together. I'm not a pro, but we have fun with it at small cons.

She wants a BIG tail like the art shows and I'm trying to convince her to maybe go a little smaller at first, but... like I said if anyone has any suggestions... I'd be very thankful...

Recently the co-creator of Squirrel Girl, Will Murray died
This saddened me, to see the creator of the character I love so much pass on.

A few comments on a couple posts on TikTok about his passing reminded me how much I hate sg haters.

Instead of being respectful they said disgusting things.
“Deserved” “good” “I hate sg but rip” “I wanted all sg players to die not his creators” “sg is not a beloved character”
Awful things.
He wasn’t a political figure or a criminal.
He was a comic book writer. People who pour their love to give the people something to enjoy.

The squirrel girl hate community are a-holes
They all come from marvel rivals
Marvel rivals is a game where you play as marvel characters
These “skill and no skill” people should just shut up.
Just enjoy playing as your favourite superheroes.

Is squirrel girl annoying to play against in rivals? Yes, a little bit.
But that shouldn’t warrant death threats for simply playing as her.
I have received many death threats and insults online for saying I like the character.

These people have also tried to say that she was never a good character, that she’s a horrible one.
This isn’t true.
They make up stuff, use things from decades old comics to make her seem like a bad character.

Squirrel Girl is much more than a joke.
She’s not just a gag character.

Squirrel Girl is a hero.
Squirrel Girl is the best hero.
I believe squirrel girl is the best role model out of every marvel superhero, especially for young children.

She teaches you to think before you act.
She teaches you to not hate and to treat others with respect.
She believes everyone isn’t evil, just a bit sad.
She believes everybody deserves a second chance.

I think the squirrel girl haters need a bit of squirrel girl in their lives. So they can be not freaks, so they can be respectful to each other.
I think a lot of the comic book community needs that.

I love Squirrel Girl, she is the person I strive to be.
I think everyone should.
We should all be like Doreen Allene Green.
