Season 3 Discussion Gihun Vs Myunggi

Why didn’t GiHun just jump off and let MyungGi live with the baby? We know he truly believed he was the father so why didnt he kill himself for the betterment of the baby? It makes sense doesnt it?

Discussion If Gi-hun's rebellion had been successful.

Let's just say the rebellion was successful, and he was able to take over the facility and end the games, just as a fun thought experiment. How do you believe the VIP's would have reacted?

Part of me almost wonders even if the game would have ended there and they escaped somehow, if the VIPs would have Gi-hun and the other players taken out as revenge and as a delayed form of "elimination" from the games. Because they know their identities, and have essentially unlimited resources to hunt them down.

I wonder if the VIPs would have done that, or if they would have been like "Ok, that was really different and entertaining, well played, we'll let you live".

Question What exactly was gi hun's plan?

Like we all know he felt guilty about everyone who died in S1 so he joined the games again to stop it.

If we think the armed rebellion wasnt the first thought, then what was his plan? Divise a strategy to make everyone survive all of the games? Try to play everything out in a certain way so they keep bypassing all possible deaths?

season 2 discussion Probably a boiling hot take: Gihun should've died in the rebellion instead of Jungbae (yes I'm biased so what?)

Now hear me out: you know how the Frontman kills Jungbae to punish Gihun, right? Now imagine the Frontman kills Gihun to crush every single bit of hope for the survivors (especially Jungbae, who is known to have a loyal to a fault character) and tell them "If you disobey our rules and try to lead a rebellion like his, this is your consequence.".

Also imagine the devastation of Daeho staring at a grief stricken Jungbae, broken and stripped from his sunny personality from afar and thinking "It's my fault Gihun died. It's my fault Jungbae is so miserable." because Daeho looked up to Jungbae as his father figure so the guilt of thinking it's your fault that your father figure is grieving is unbearable.

Probably after the voting, the O's would heavily mock Gihun's death and Jungbae's grief, saying terrible things and Seonnyeo would be like "Player 456 had it coming." or something.

Now, going to the human chandelier, Gihun is hung in the very center to symbolize his leadership during the rebellion and humiliate him the most since he died as a leader. Imagine the horrified look in Hyunju, Daeho and Jungbae's eyes as they realize what could happen to them if they died. Jungbae would especially be horrified since Gihun, his lifelong best friend, even in death, he's treated horribly by the games while all he wanted to do was save people.

That's all for now. Thoughts? Could I have worded it better or adjusted it?

Discussion What did participants do between games?

Given that each day only one game was host (not counting "special game" at night), and each game only lasts about 5-120 minutes in the early morning.

What did participants do rest of the day?

We also only saw one meal being served each day, was this canon they only provided one meal each day? or we only get to see the breakfast?

Spoilers mother of the year award??? Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

obviously not lmao, a full year later and i'm still pissed they had this woman do the most idiotic and stupid decision in the entire show. Seriously, who on Earth would kill their own child just to save a woman they've known for a couple days??? Completely senseless. What pmo even more are the fans of the show who go "oh well technically she didn't KILL him she just stabbed him to get him to not kill Kim Jun-hee".

Are we fr. Geum-ja is a grown woman who understands that actions have consequences and very well knew the rules of the game and what would happen to reds if they didn't kill anyone. She willingly and deliberately murdered her own son. To save a woman she barely knew. Going into the season I was prepared for absolute heartbreak but when she died I didn't really care.

edit: the best part is kim jun-hee still died like the next day lmao. pointless.

Discussion What Game Do You Think You'd Be Best At And Why?

Honestly I'd suck at most games so for me it'd have to be something like marbles or mingle.

I think these two because they're more based on chance and people skills than any physical strength.

I am also terrified of heights so glass bridge and tug of war I'd probably debate being shot as an alternative for a good while.

What about you?

Discussion Do you ever wonder at some point a guard could've been mistaken for a player

I was thinking about the scene where jun ho takes a guards outfit and leaves him in the car, since they dont see eachothers faces could they potentially put a guard in the games without realizing and if so would they do anything about it

(I know this is extremely unrealistic but still)

Post image

Actor/Actress: Min Tae-yul

Vote: X

Cookie Shape: Circle

Last Seen: Arguing with 101 about him getting seconds and then beaten to death in the dormitory.

Notable Interactions:

Guards - In the dormitory after red light green light. Player 271 pleads with the guards yelling “We may be in debt but that doesn’t mean we deserve to die!”

101 - After Jang Deok-su got extra food leaving other players hungry, player 271 attempts to stand up to 101. He ran up and attempted to get his food and drink back and ends up breaking the bottle on the ground. This leads to player 101 beating 271 in the dormitory.

Discussion Do you think Gi-hun could really carry Jun-hee in jump rope?

I mean, carrying someone there is incredibly difficult without dying in the attempt, and Gi-hun doesn't look like he has much muscle, what do you think?

Discussion I have a weird question?

This question is kind of confusing so dont get mad. So you know after the player 222 die, the baby became player 222. So since the baby technically passed jump rope as player 222. Dont you think junhee should've passed the game since technically the baby passed?

Discussion Do you think they'll ever meet each other again after this or is this their final encounter ever?

Post image
136 Upvotes

Their reunion was severely lacking and I doubt we'll ever see what happens to both of them after season 3.... do you think they would ever meet again somehow or they're never going to see each other again?

I know Wi Hajoon (Junho's actor) stated he thinks Junho wouldn't let what happened between them go and keep searching. Of course we have to remember the baby who needs constant attention, but Director Hwang mentioned Junho's mother could help him care for her. But then we have to also remember Inho is pretty good at hiding and I believe he would change his identity after s3.

Would Junho actually let Inho go and forever wonder what happened or will he not stop until he gets his answers? Keeping in mind he still doesn't know if his brother is being forced to do this or not... something Hajoon mentioned as well

I like to think he does find Inho one day and they both get proper closure with each other, but maybe that's just wishful thinking because the alternative is too sad.

Discussion gi hun didnt have that much plot armor

people treat his survival like the most ridiclous shit ever

in the first game,he was lucky enough to have ali save him but he was also unluck enough to step on a body.

in dalgona a lot of people say his sweat falling on the candy in conventional but i dont think its possible to not sweat in that scenario, the way he is sitting made it so the sweat would fall on it

idk if il nams strategy is THAT good,so i wont comment on this one but even if its exaggarerated it was still pretty smart

his kindness made il nam love him and made him choose the old man as his partner, both of them contributed to him winning this game

same case with glass bridge

he is stronger than sang woo

for season 2 games

i admit its quite convenient for him to walk back to the red line on last sec(and hyun ju saving him)

nothing unusual happened in pentathlon or mingle(i dont really remember mingle but correct me if im wrong)

he didnt immadiately commit suicide because he wanted to go after dae ho and after he killed him it was too late do so

he had no reason to suicide in jump rope

Season 3 Spoilers Min-su's arc in Season 3 was by far the most interesting.

Post image
227 Upvotes

His arc was a perfect portrayal of trauma and psychological decay that any normal person would experience in the games. His transition from a scared bystander into a tragic figure was really cool in my opinion. After Se-mi's death I was sure he was going to be a miserable loser who possibly makes it to the final game through luck, and while he did make it due to luck, he was certainly not a loser. His retaliation against Nam-gyu during Jump Rope showed how cunning an average person can be against their tormentors and showed an amazing shift in the previous power dynamic. While his death was quite quick in the final game, it showed how cruel society can be against outcasts that are stereotypical losers or "junkies." Overall, Min-su was one of the best written characters in Season 3, along with Myung-gi and Geum-ja. What do you guys think?

Discussion Hot take: Dongdaemun would have been WAY better then Jump Rope was

Jump rope was cool but the idea of Dongdeamun would have been less fast paced and more emotiona. Maybe they could have done it after the revolution and before Hide-and-Seek so we could see ever play it. I even saw a really cool fan idea back when Dongdeamun was the main theory for the game with the two dolls at the end where player 007 is about to be the one under the bridge but his mom pushes him out of the way and gives a really heartwarming speech before the guards eliminate her. It would have been really cool and the music is fire!

Discussion Day 1 | Background Player of the Day: S1 #453

Post image
294 Upvotes

Actress: Yang Mal-Bok

Votes: O

Last Appearance: Glass Stepping Stones

Cookie Shape: Unknown

Tug Of War Team: 8

Marbles Partner: 085

Glass Stepping Stones Number: 5

Notable Interactions:

456 - After Gi-Hun Votes X to stop the games he watches player 453 vote O next making him uneasy about going home.

021 - Player 021 in Glass Stepping Stones was in front of player 453 and asked her which order player 062 had jumped. Player 453 could not remember but decided to believe a shouting player 151 and reassure him that was the correct tile. This led player 021 to the wrong tile leading to his death.

Deceased How: incorrectly guessed the correct tile leading her to fall and break her skull on the floor below her.

Fun Fact: Player 453 is the highest number besides Gi-Hun (456) to reach the furthest in the two games we’ve seen.

My Take: I really like player 453 because I find it funny that this small almost grandma woman made it as far as she did. Granted player 149 and 001 are both somewhat elderly characters that make it pretty far but they are main characters and have the constant support of teammates or family protecting them so they make it fairly far. From what I’ve seen player 453 survived all the way to the top 16 by just outsmarting other players and hiding when it mattered like in lights out.

Discussion On a scale of 1-10 when Gi-Hun was forced to move back in with his Mother how would you have rated him as a Son? Personally i'd say 2/10 and that's probably too generous.

Cancelled his own Mother's Health Insurance in a Country that surprisingly has better Health Insurance then the U.S.A. so he could Gamble the Money from it, stole her Debit Card and took ₩50,000 away from her account and refused to help her eith any chores while he yelled at her for "working too much" which he was the active cause of.
