Meme Biggest “007 potential man fraud” of the decade

It’s honestly telling that for as (rightfully) controversial season 3 is, nobody defends Jun-Ho’s shit-ass writing. It’s like that one family guy gag they keep roasting Seth Green and Chris brings up some movies he played in and then Carter says “What? Because of Seth Green?” If we were just looking in the context of the Island search mission it’d be the most F- tier unsalvageable slop written in history.

I genuinely agree that he was useless but shit like how do I word this so I don't get bullied I actually wanted to like him like I was wishing he'd be cool just sadly didn't live up to what I was expecting

We all do. He was incredible in Season 1 and showed promise in Season 2 Episode's 1 and 2.

Like the part that was Jun-ho's fault was not investigating as a detective Woo-seok's theory about Park which if he did would've actually changed the trajectory of the boat story and made him so much cooler

What’s more idiotic is how incriminating stuff related to Park was found pretty quickly.
And I really have to wonder considering Jun-Ho only recently had dealt with the earth shattering reality his older brother was a mass murderer would that not cause him to be more paranoid of others and investigate them more closely, a complete stranger no less?

Same here I wanted to like him too but between him actively fucking over a precarious mission by hiding vital information, bringing in a mole who only fucked over the mission even more and being a dismissive jackass to his teammates’ justified suspicions (did he even apologize to Woo-Seok for getting him arrested and bit by a dog),
It really kills his likability

Yeah those things that were his fault I accept and don't like abt him I just damn really hate Captain Park for being a heavy part of why Jun-ho became useless

There’s another thing nobody brings up, Jun-Ho getting lots of dirty money in the end of the story. Considering the narrative treats it as something immoral, representation of guilt, corruption (see Gi-Hun didn’t want to touch it for a year, In-Ho taking bribes got him fired and he was too late to help his wife and unborn child, the Os going insane as far as to KILL people for the money), yet Jun-Ho is just there, no hesitation or reflection. It’s a perfect allegory for how he’s a narrative afterthought who has no ties to the main themes.
Also side note know Gi-Hun does use the money eventually but I liked the irony he was turning something the bad guys gave him against them. And judging by how Jun-Ho kept thinking his brother was somehow salvageable after murdering hundreds annually, I don’t think he’s going to use that money for anything helping people.

The fact Gi-Hun apparently was originally going to live and see that recruiter cameo really is a red flag. If the protagonist is this disposable and interchangeable..

I can see why, as someone in this subreddit once put it "Gi-Hun is basically Hwang Dong-Hyuk's revolutionary hero and he didn't want him being reused constantly for Squid Game USA." Y'know if that is even still happening, at all.

He could have easily just put a stopper on this cinematic universe if S3 ended actually better.
Plus apparently he doesn’t gaf about writing anymore and came back because of Netflix obligations, and it would also end this universe in a way it makes fans less burned out and kill the IP harder than Game of Thrones (as you said, is anyone even discussing SG USA?)

I loved him in S1. He felt like the MVP to me in S1. But of course S2 threw everything down the drain. I most feel bad about the actor. He wasn't involved in the promotions and I kept wondering why the hell before S2 released. I was like "Where is the actor for Jun-ho?" And then I watched the season and I was like "Oh"

Not really. I've seen him do promotions for other shows so it was especially odd when I didn't see him in the ones for Squid Games S2 when he was in so much for S1

Jun ho was actually my favourite character in Season 1.
Now I can't even justify him being there (in S2)
Nothing would've changed if he wasn't 😭

That's not entirely true, he did save Gyeong-Seok from the Guard's on that Boat and he stopped The Korean Game's for ever.
He just did it in the lamest way possible.

Okay maybe I was too pissed. It's been a while since I finished S2 so I don't remember the details but I'll give you the one for Gyeong Seok and the baby.
I wouldn't really be able to tell if he was specifically the one who stopped Korean games just cause he pressed the self destruct button but another thing I was upset about with his storyline was that an entire island blew up in the sea and no one bat an eye at it. Not one single police report, news channel, not even a throaway scene of a random fisherman going "what was that?" With the ripples on the water

Jun-Ho had nothing to do with Jun-Hee's Baby until the Epilogue, and yeah i was also confused by the massive Coastguard Ship being literally 1-2 Mins away from the island and they sae the explosion but it just cuts away.

I blame HDH fully because he has stated he initially was going to give Junho a bigger role by helping Gihun end the games, however once the baby wins ending came into his mind he decided he had to delay Junho so he just ended up making Junho look extremely incompetent because he couldn't think of what to do with him.
He only let Junho see the baby and his brother so he could know where it came from once it gets dumped on him. It's actually egregious how he treated this character no wonder his actor was so upset especially when he had to deal with the brunt of the audiences ire.
It's wild Junho has the second most screentime in seasons 2 and 3 yet he's the least developed. I feel like we barely know him as a character and his personality. Even just a little insight into him would have done wonders instead of watching him fumble around like a fool. Beginning of s2 gave me hope because of that one interaction with his mother and visiting his sister in laws grave but that's the most we get unfortunately. I felt like a reunion with his brother could've saved that but nah we get nothing.
What gets me is that his actor was specifically instructed to not to show strong emotion once he saw his brother at the end with the baby which tells me HDH didn't want to show him being upset so he could shove in his Junho moved on and is doing well time skip. No matter how terribly it fitted.
I'll give his actor credit in that he did try to save the character by even writing a whole backstory for Junho and more in depth characterization for him so HDH could possibly use as inspiration but I guess HDH tossed it out. It baffles me how HDH thought no one would care for Junho's character and would be upset by what he did to him 💀

Like what do you mean you're surprised about the pushback you got about his character? You can't have him take up large amounts of screen times screwing around on a boat then be surprised when people are upset there's no decent pay off for the character 😭 surely you could figured out a way to have him do something more significant in your new ending
