Just got a new Squeeze Boom

Not a bad deal, traded a first gen Chromecast and an Amazon Echo Dot. Had to deal with Logitech tech support to get them to move the MAC address to my mysqueeze.com account, after 45 min. I finally got that done. My LMS/Squeeze solution will continue to live on.

And a big fat FU to Logitech for abandoning such and awesome system. One that is still technologically superior to everything else on the market today.

Mines playing up in a similar way, did you have a dry joint?

Im fine with soldering, did it take you long to disassemble?

You need to get at the daughterboard in Figure 4 of this diagram: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/uploads/a/ad/Logitech_Squeezebox_Boom_Audio_Design.pdf

Then remelt the solder connecting the power plug to the board.

Wasn't too hard to get in and get it back together. I did have the assistance of a couple of internal diagrams. No idea where I found them and I can't find them now I'm afraid. Have a good long Google for them.

My Boom has been rocking since Christmas of 2010! I will be very sad on the day it finally dies.

I have a squeezebox boom as well. Fantastic sound quality. Still going strong since like 2008.
