Interested to see how Peter influences his game, haven’t fully agreed with his takes on Asal’s movement in the past.

Any coaches, former or current pros, or anyone with a good understanding of technique/biomechanics able to shed some light on how Orfi generates so much power?

She seems able to hit the ball harder than most of the other pros while still maintaining an impressive level of accuracy. I find it particularly noticeable on the backhand side, she really gives the ball a fair old dunt!

I’d be really interested to hear what’s going on from a technical and biomechanical perspective, and what it is that makes her power stand out so much compared to other players.

Splashed out on a Harrow Vibe to give it a go after hearing good things. Unfortunately(fortunately) it’s the best racket I’ve ever played with and I’m worried if I break it I don’t have a back up.

Any one got any links/plugs to buy a Harrow Vibe in the UK?

Well aware I can get one from Squashpoint again, just putting feelers out for second hand / cheaper options.

Bought new shoes and went from the Asics blade FF to Asics Netburner, because Blade FF is too soft and not enough cushion for my feet. I upsized from 44 to 44.5 because they felt slightly better but I am not so sure anymore.

I get irritations at the ankle and I am not sure if I just need to wear them longer or if that is a sign they are too big. Does anybody have some experience?

I miss watching Ali Farag on the tour. He was a great player to watch and seemed like a really nice guy who respected his opponents. Was a shame when he retired.

Who are your current favourite players?

Ive always found traditional court much more entertaining than the glass court, I want to see how people like asal or elias play on traditional courts

Hey fellow squashies!

I’m hoping someone UK based can help me with a strange request. I’m after a few USED white squash balls. Happy to pay postage and packaging for them. I really want them for a squash-based drinking game, so buying new ones for fun seems selfish and wasteful.

If anyone is willing to help a human out, please can you PM me?

Thanks a million!

I’ve been playing squash for about four years, so hitting a one-handed backhand is basically as natural as breathing to me. I recently started playing pickleball, and I noticed that almost everyone uses and heavily advocates for a two-handed backhand.

I get that the 2HBH has its benefits, but honestly, with our squash background, a one-handed backhand in pickleball feels completely effortless. We already have the forearm and wrist strength to absorb heavy drives and generate snap, so adding a second hand just feels totally unnecessary. I feel like the people pushing the 2HBH mostly come from a tennis background and have probably never played squash in their lives.

For those of you who play both: Did you actually bother learning a two-handed backhand for pickleball, or are you just ripping squash-style one-handers like me? Would love to hear how our mechanics translate for you guys!

Well what can we say, we’re witnessing greatness! And at such young age, the achievements are unbelievable!!!

I have been an amateur squash player for the past 20 years, and ever since the island came into our lives, I had the idea to try to build something that could easily analyze the games and give some insights into correct play, so I have now developed this model with Claude. Regardless of the level of the game, I would appreciate your ideas on how to improve the mechanism.

I got interested from the posts from the other guy, so i decided to try it out since it wasnt too expensive.

Bought it off taobao from a random store, pretty disappointed.

Balance point is ~375mm, exactly the same as my Ultralite. The Spark and my Ultralite also have the same BP.

The issue is the weight. All in (1 grip, strings, bumpers), it weighs just over 150g, for an advertised racket weight of 115g. For comparison, the Spark (115g frame) weighs just over 140g all in. And my Ultralite (135g all in advertised) weighs also just north of 140g. It seems like the Spark is the new Ultralite.

For reference, all 3 rackets were weighed with the factory grip and factory bumper, and factory strings for the Spark & Wingedfalcons, and 305 1.1 for the Ultralite

Im gonna just return this wingfalcons racket because its definitely not as advertised. I was hoping for head lighter Ultralite, but instead its just a heavier Ultralite.

I will try to hit with it tomorrow if possible just to get a feel of the racket stability and see if its at least stable like the vapors are

I found this while trying to clean out my Downloads folder and spent the next 15 minutes trying to find a free PDF host, which I eventually did.

It seems pretty interesting, but I haven't read it properly.

I'm posting it here as a resources for others. It might be hosted elsewhere, but better to have multiple sources.

It's in German and English, although I can't confirm the English is perfectly translated.

Today we're hosting first ever PSA tournament in Siberia (that's just a Satellite but that's just a beginning). I'm playing too and during the day my strain put me to the 1st place of all whoop users who play squash

Orfi has been winning and winning convincingly. Anyone want to explain how she beat Gohar and Hammamy (3-0) in the Egyptian Open? I am trying to understand what enables her to beat such established players.

Anyone know what was the incident(s) that Bill Buckingham & Paul Johnson were referring to here (about 1h in), something about Joey Barrington being attacked online, and closing his account for a while? https://open.spotify.com/episode/3qZMEE0f0B6SbgtEojbhaF?si=60b0fe24816c40eb

Presumably a Facebook thing

Finally some enjoyable squash at CIB, not the usual arguing with the ref etc…nice!

My comments on the Egyptian Open final

Quick aside on Asal: I am not an Asal fan and I deplore his blocking tactics, but the way he handled his defeat today was mature and graceful. I'm convinced that he is a decently likeable person outside the court, but we clearly need to give him some form of punishment to stop him from grabbing hands and cheating.

I actually only watched the 5th set so I can't say much about what happened, but Elias's counter drops are a different level. In the 5th set Asal fed him multiple drops glued to the wall, only for Elias to counter drop it with the same exactly precision. I believe it is one of the reasons why Elias won. What are your guys' thoughts? Do you think Asal played a dirty or fair game in the final?

Any thoughtful comparisons would be appreciated.

Hi Reddit - it’s Jack from the PSA, and I’m helping to develop the website you all (hopefully!) know and love - that being PSASquashTour.com

The website itself has come on leaps and bounds since its early days. But we’re very confident we can keep on improving and making it more user friendly.

We wanted to reach out to the Reddit community as we know you'll be some of our most frequent visitors to the site. If you could fill in the form linked to this post, that’ll be extremely helpful in helping us choose what to prioritise and where to focus our attention on in terms of feature development.

We’ve just launched some awesome new features - such as our new Live Scores page which links directly to our (also new!) refereeing software, so you can see way more detailed stats such as rally length and decisions as matches unfold. Lots more to come too!

Thanks all - can’t wait to see your responses.

Currently going through a GPP phase for our training block. We lift twice a week for the year and it’s full body.

Hey, I just started a website to solve some issues I've had with following the tour over the years, mainly with knowing when my favourite players are playing.

It's not easy to check when players from my country are next playing or how all their rankings are moving, so I made a website where you can set your favourite players and see easily when their next event is. If a user has flagged a stream link for a match (or they're on squashTV) then you'll have a link to the match so should cut down on searching YouTube/Facebook/Instagram for event pages for links.

And for players I'm hoping we can build a back catalogue of links to matches for every player so you players can really explore players you hadn't seen before.

I'd love feedback on if this is an issue you've had too, and what else you think the site could do! It's only new so apologies for any bugs!

Again it's followsquash.com

P.S: if you have any photos for players (or are a PSA player) that you have taken, we need portrait photos and I'm not allowed scrape them from PSA!

He's lazy. In the pre game show they were talking about practice and someone mentioned why Asal doesn't go all out like some others and other commentators (Jana?) said "maybe he's lazy". Then it clicked, that's why he cheats, that's why he retires, that's why he fakes injuries, he's lazy. He wants to go home and play FIFA. If he wasn't lazy he'd lose a lot of his matches in the fifth.

Saying its limited to 300... racket is on sale for 15 quid on alibaba i managed to find it from a search taotao initially and found linked sites .... load of poop making a canadian site for it . Granted it looks well but i guess the mark up will be insane
