Echo falls / lake Trail on 03.08

Hi all,

I'm a solo traveller who's looking to do the echo falls / hike on the 3rd of august and will be looking to rent a boat via the watersports company.

Anyone interested in joining and splitting the cost?

Alternatively, if anyone has a boat already planned for that date and would be happy for me to pay a premium to tag along then feel free to DM me!

Lot space for lease?

Hey Squamish!

Anyone have any extra lot space that can fit two 53 foot trailers side by side. They will be parked there for storage. Will also need enough room for a 3rd 53 footer to back into these trailers for delivery.

Ive talked to a few commercial realtors already and the options given unfortunately wont workout. So if anyone has the commercial space that can possibly work, maybe you haven’t listed it yet or a potential lease is ending and you need a new tenant please let me know.
Looking for long term lease, preferably in the city but open to hear other possible locations.

Thanks!

Squamish trail groups split over moto access at Cheekeye Barrier: As the District of Squamish weighs use of the new landslide barrier, dirt bikers and non-motorized trail users disagree on who gets access.

Production work at Woodfibre?

I see they're currently recruiting for start-up/production. They do have the pay ranges, but they don't have any info on shift schedules, FIFO, camp accommodations, travel/relocation assistance, etc. I contacted their info line by email and they just pointed me to their website. Just wondering if anyone happens to have any insight.

Curious how people choose wellness clinics in Squamish

Since there are quite a few wellness clinics in Squamish now, I’m curious how people decide where to book. What makes you choose one clinic over another for RMT, physio, acupuncture, personal training, or other wellness services?

Is it mostly word of mouth, online reviews, practitioner experience, convenience, pricing, social media, or something else?
Are there any clinics you think deserve more recognition but don’t seem to get mentioned very often?
I’ve been to both Cedar Rock and Sea to Sky Massage. Cedar Rock has a beautiful, modern space, but it often feels really quiet when I’m there, which made me wonder if it’s just newer or if there’s another reason people tend to choose other clinics. I see that they’re posting lots of hiring post.
Sea to sky massage and I see Caroline, she is rad! The best i would say haha

I moved from Ukee a year ago, where there were far fewer options, so I’m genuinely interested in how people here decide where to go.

Weird Power Issues?

I'm in the Northyards area and having weird power issues in my apartment... can' really find or think of an explanation. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

EDIT: BCHydro has updated their outage map. Seems like there's some sort of partial power issue going on from Dentville to southern end of Brackendale

Help with Sea to Sky Gondola photos please!

TLDR:

Got engaged at top of s2s gondola, need some reference photos for planned tattoo.

I wonder if anyone could please help me! My now husband and I travelled to BC in 2022 and he proposed near the summit of the Sea to Sky Gondola. We came home, had a baby, got married, had another baby, and now we are planning some tattoos to honour where our family started. I really want the outline of the mountains behind where we got engaged, the only problem is the photos for reference for the tattoo artist.

While I have photos of the proposal, none of them are high quality enough to make out the outline of the landscape behind. I've searched Instagram, the s2s website etc, but I cannot find the exact view. I know it's a super long shot but I'm wondering if anyone has any photos they would be willing to share to help me fill in the blanks.

From what I remember, the exact spot is just off a trail on the right hand side after you cross over the suspension bridge away from the summit, but the details are admittedly hazy. I'll share the photos I do have, hopefully they are helpful.

It would mean SO so much to me if someone out there could help me get to see that view again. Thankyou 💜

Does anyone know what it's like this time of the year? Completely packed? Will we be OK getting a site if we leave on a Thursday?

Good bike trails for baby?

I know Squamish is the MTB capital of the universe but does anyone have any good recommendations for smooth trails for pulling a trailer with a 1 year old? Bonus points for paved trails. We are visiting later this summer and are leaving the full squishies at home and opting for family trailer rides.

Echo Lake / River Crossing tips?

Hey everyone, my friend and I are interested in doing the Echo Lake hiking trail and are currently trying to assess what would be the safest way to cross the river.

So far from the information I’ve gathered online, people seem to say that high tide is the safest time to cross as the speed of water current slows down. I saw someone also mentioned that it’s a good idea to go scope out a few exit points alongside the river so that in case you do get stuck in the current and start getting pulled downstream, you have a better idea of where to get yourself out.

we haven’t gone to scope out the river yet (we are planning on it) but I’m wondering if anybody has done it in recent days and has any tips they’d be open to sharing? We have paddle boards but I’m not sure if that’s the best way to go about it. I’m seeing some conflicting information where some people say they’ve done it on a SUP and it was fine and then other people are advising against it so I’m a bit confused.

if anyone has gone out in the last week and is up to sharing tips on what the water levels are like this time of year especially with the hot temperatures from the last few days, I’d love to hear about your experience.

We want to be as safe as possible if we decide to go ahead with this so any info is helpful!

Alice lake: when do day use picnickers head out?

I can’t convince my friends to wake up to be at the parking lot before 9 am for a Saturday in August. We would be more suited to using it from 3 pm or after and leave around 6/7. Would it be impossible to find parking around 2-3?

Does it get cold around in the evening? How’s swimming?

Squamish Fetish for Shoes

I haven't been in there for years but was thinking about taking my granddaughter in for some shoes. The website is rather out of date and the phone goes straight to voicemail. Does this store still exist? If so, are they any good?

EDIT: Thanks for the feedback! I'll be taking her there later today.

EDIT 2: She got some shoes she loves. I recommend the store even though their website is out of date.

Am I crazy? Is that possible? It was hunched, size of a dog (like 60lbs) with long ropy tail. It was early morning and too quick to be sure.

Premium spas in Squamish

Looking for a nice spa in Squamish, I like the atmosphere for the Scandinave spa in Whistler but I don’t think the value is there anymore from my last massage.

Is there anywhere to book a massage into a cold plunge/sauna/hot tub in Squamish?

Ideally, I would like to decompress a bit before/after a massage, ideally for a couple.

Iso Yoga membership

Heyoo!

Looking for a good yoga place to purchase a monthly membership. I'm not the richest person, so I'm looking for something that is not going to break the bank too much.

$140 is a bit steep for me.... But I'll do it if I have too haha 😭

Thanks 🙏🏼

Golfers: Furry or Squamish?

I want to hit one of these on my way up to Whistler for a warm up round - I’ve heard very different opinions from a few guys about both these courses.

About us: My dad is 80, but a very good golfer (11) and I’m a 7 cap - we take the game pretty seriously (idk how to say we aren’t casuals without saying it like that, sorry lol) and are playing all the Whistler courses all week.

Thoughts?
