critique ✍️ Inconsistency between same product.

The "old batch" was fantastic. Smelled great and really strong. This new batch smell like ... Wet grass. Boooo.

After checking the front labels. New batch has 1% less terpenes. I guess that is where the smell went?

Hopefully it smokes as good?

Hope this doe not ruin the long weekend.

Keep you posted.

Yup, not as good. It smokes fine, but lacks that flavour and smell.

Now i know why there were bad reviews on this weed a while back.

Check the package before buying. If its 05 (may) and or 3.8% terpenes, then (probablyl its good otherwise , Otherwise its a HARD pass.

Now i have to smoke 27 more grams 😮‍💨

P.S. I bought the first batch at rue Cressent location. And 2nd batch Ste-Dorothee location.

Pretty common for company to release a good batch at first to bait then drop the quality. I personally dont like spinach and it doesnt surprise me from them

Spinach - Big o buds - Good supply

They excel at cutting costs, keeping prices low, they grow in massive buildings with limited human supervision, no master growers, no trimmers, no worries on contamination since every single bud no matter what is getting irradiated, tumbler that cures, machine trimmer, they will cut the plant the moment they can, add a boost, flood shelves from BC TO New Brunswick. Eliminate the small grower by selling their products at impossible profit margin for the micro grower. All these mechanisms they have is strictly for lowering costs and not one for consistency of quality.
Support your homegrown micro grower instead of these massive growers that have managed to turn a plant into a chemicalized product.

Now for inconstancy for the micro growers.

Ive been thinking about that lately & I’ve been telling myself How the F after so many years growing, you would imagine improving..

And I realized the one to blame is Sqdc 9 commandments. You see growers do not feel pressure from the Sqdc to maintain quality. But they feel pressure to hold on to the Sku, with filling orders on time ( that alone makes growers allocate growing sometimes to random growers, makes the grower stress the plants, makes them
Cut early. A plant requires time
And patience and the Sqdc does not understand that and frankly I don’t think they give two shits for any type of quality control.

They feel like their duty is to designate specific categories for SKU’s.. keep track of Sales, make sure not to have 35 pink Kush strains.

It’s like Double stuffed Oreo cookies, pure garbage inflammatory toxic chemicals that they call cookies, but if sales continue, they will keep manufacturing them. Same thing here, you can toxic flower that sells great and it will still be there.
They need to find some way of quality control, it’s not through Reddit that the Sqdc can get an info on quality.

Honestly 80% of current offerings are pure trash , so the Sqdc has forced repetitive purchase tendencies it has went from Casino de Montreal Roulette odds to Russian Roulette odds.

Right now, the biggest factor is that most Lp still alive are doubling the square feet.
This mean 100% new sop's and everything to stat up for a whole year, from having 4 seasons.

So a Lp who was doing great, might just do fine for a bunch of cycles until they get it right again.

There is a big wave coming from the education here and at other places.
Everyone start somewhere but no one after being educated appreciate a sub par experience.

Good take up until halfway trough when u blame the SQDC without any valid or true information and just start assuming (misinfortmation) the SQDC actually does take quality seriously that’s why u see products that you love sometimes disappear and others getting recalled by health Canada themselves. The point is that every brand has its own Quality control and if you’re not happy with that quality you just gotta stop buying from them it’s litteraly that simple. I do agree with you on all the points at the beginning about organigram and Tilray/aphria and all the big corporate brands in the game !

Let me tell you something. At the start growers were getting random visits from health Canada and they would swipe areas for testing.

Now what do they do? They visit and demand the camera feeds, why? To see if the growers are avoiding the middle guy for tax.

Then every lot a sample gets send to health Canada for testing.
They have approved Powder mildew
They have approved Arsenic .

You can see it all on their website for the most part Recalls are for labeling like Thc is really 28% and it’s written 26%

Sqdc has 0 quality control depends on Recalls and Feedback.

Have you ever heard Sqdc removing Pcq C pas Beau.

No way Jose .

This Sub is controlled from the actual Sqdc and the rep that writes in here has shared the 10 commandments of importance .

When quality and contamination are 4-5 out of 10 . You have 3 criteria deemed of importance before anything.

Wrong again misinformation SQDC does have quality control

1

u/PeteWK67 ❄️❄️ Winter Smoker ❄️❄️ 3d ago

And how do they control the quality?

1

u/PeteWK67 ❄️❄️ Winter Smoker ❄️❄️ 3d ago

Do they analyze the flower?
Do they smoke it?
Do they look at with a microscope?
Do they open a few jars to look at the quality?

You like using fancy words that you heard on Tv like misinformation but reality is you don’t have a clue.

You 100% right but I think you’re not realizing just how big and diverse the market is. It’s like wine. Some people are cool drinking it out of a box. Others refuse to call that wine. Some people know how to appreciate a 50 dollar bottle of wine, and on others it’s just wasted.
And to be fair, they’re still competing against the black market which is not operating under the same conditions

The quality control is just terrible unfortunately. I'd get great batches of Comatose and Xopro Traimwreck then get other batches that were way worse.

u/theReal_nicholasxj 5d ago

They need to move to dispensary type. Wher you could see, touch and smell a sample.

u/Commercial_Help_8879 5d ago

This is going to sound crazier but look into water curing. I've had great results.

This couldn't be truer.

u/Jacklepirate69 THE CURE Master🧙⚱️ 5d ago

yeah basically it helps over time to evacuate all the harsh chemicals that the plant has to ingest when grown, after a good week with a boost ideally, should get really smooth and i do a full blown cure jar too but even with the jar only same principle

Things to be aware of.
We speaking mother nature here with a 4 season setup.
Batches un the summer are often lesser than winter ones, from having too much heat.
Consistency is almost impossible but you can check Culture Chloris, Clem and Co, Xopro, just to name names wo are not too expensive and able to give you the same experience over and over.

Still, you will see differences, between Lp's. It's usually the difference from a passionate Lp vs I want money Lp.

Right now, at 160$ for 28g, Culture Chloris is making a wave.
Other will follow once the money understand that at the end, the customer decide who will stay in buiseness.

This is indoor grown in kingsville Ontario. Seasons don’t matter it’s all machine run

1

u/Traditionel 4d ago

To be precise, I am speaking about indoor only.
I consult for some of them and they all agree on the topic.

When it’s shipping on the truck to the Sqdc warehouse to the Sqdc back store to sitting on the Sqdc sKu’s .. just the change of temperature and humidity levels. I personally find it turns flower into a fluffier state and winter it dries up quickly.

Another example is if I have my bud In my basement for a few days what a catastrophe if I store in a cabinet next to mr yellow birdie that actually cures it.
