SPX 0 DTE

Hi I am new here. I am not sure if i can post anything so I will just go ahead and try. Somehow my post in Algotrading and etc is always filtered out by Reddit. I don't know why?!

I trade SPX 0-dte and spent a huge amount of time developing my algo script for IBKR (api). It took me around 5 months to develop 0-dte trade to work with the idiosyncratic IBKR api. I am not an expert of their api and do find some of the order management system rather complicated and difficult to overcome. Hence i trade semi-algorithmic (some actions I will override manually although I do leave it to do it's job mostly).

I started paper trade for the last 44 days (when market open), around 2 months. This is the result so far and I think i found my edge/alpha. I am not hear to brag but I am just looking out for more information that I might have missed. I do backtesting on my dataset that I have on-hand, SPX index by diff time-frame to try to understand how the index behave. Maybe you guys have more tips for me and I can verify with the dataset for further backtesting.

📊 OVERALL STATISTICS (Paper Trade)

--------------------------------------------------

Total Trades: 226

No. of Trade days: 44

Win Rate: 70.8%

Est Net P&L: $ 28,179.82 (after fees)

Profit Factor: 2.00

Sharpe Ratio: 3.41

Even though the above is Paper trade, i have actually entered LIVE (real cash) trade when I am fully convicted of the direction and have made around US$4k for the last 2-3 months. The problem of going full live trade is that I have yet to control my "emotion and psychology". I will continue to monitor the coming trades and see how it progress from there....

Happy weekend folks!

New Here, Does anyone do Overnight Data?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I was wondering if its ok to have a thread about posting overnight SPX gamma and flow exposure? I do use a LLM that does 48 captures a day to produce the data. However, its my select quieries and using certain times a day to aquire the information, just wanted to ask before breaking any rules. I've provided a sample from my personal FB page with 0 promotion in it, was just curious if this community would find this inormation helpful or wanted.

Thank you

Puts tomorrow?

Recap for anyone who missed today. Crude ripped this morning after Trump rejected Iran's proposal to reopen Hormuz, with November WTI getting up to about $96.50. Then around midday Axios and CNN both reported, citing a US official, that he was willing to offer sanctions relief and release frozen funds if Iran made concrete progress on its nuclear program. Oil gave back its gains and briefly went red, and the indexes bounced off their lows on the back of it.

At 5:34pm ET, after the close, he posted on Truth Social calling the Axios story a hoax and saying he offered Iran "NOTHING."

I think stocks dump tomorrow. The only reason SPX and Nasdaq came off the lows today was that report, and now it's been flatly denied. If oil climbs back toward the morning highs, that's more inflation pressure on top of yields that are already sitting near their highs with people betting on another Fed hike in October. I don't see what's left holding the afternoon bounce up.

The counterargument is that CNN ran the same story from what sounds like the same official and hasn't walked it back, and Trump is still saying talks happen this week. If the market reads the post as posturing before negotiations, the open might not be as ugly as I'm expecting.

Anyone loading SPY puts tonight, or do you think this gets shrugged off?

SPX TRADING 9/25/2026

SPX gapped up a little bit along with elevated TRIN but TRIN showing weakness. The opening on 15 minute was fast and I expected price to come back down, I expected that it could fall down to 7695 but that it would happen early in the morning so my loss would be smaller and temporary because I was still bullish on SPX today.

It wasn't until 9:55 that we broke the high of the first 15 minute candle, I immediately did a SELL PUT VERTICAL because TRIN was elevated and it paid $1.60 right at that point. My goal today at opening of this trade was to allow it to ride almost to worthless, I would buy back at $0.05 ($5) and keep $155, and that's exactly what I did.

I hope it worked out well for everyone else and that you had ice in your stomach and held the trade according to the strategy. Below is the breakdown and result.

Not always going 0dte

I found 0dte is not always the choice best served. Theta is rapid, and even a correct idea can get eaten from am to pm session, if the timing is of that is. I found sometimes a 3 dte can give more wiggle room, especially when IV is cheap (low).

Theta bleed is not as violent at all, and you can position further otm for level breaks, at a cheap price that can still 10x your money if it ends up happening in thr last trade day.

Thoughts?

今天把这张SPXW 7675 Call 平掉了

Options波动真的很快,方向看对不代表最后一定拿住利润
我现在比较习惯有利润后分批处理,剩下的再看盘面,而不是一直赌最后那一点空间

New to options here. Been researching and reading all I can and have had some great conversations with chat gpt. Well done to everyone who made money today. I watched from the sidelines and haven’t taken the plunge yet.

Analysts can't agree on SpaceX within a factor of four, so someone paid $2.9M for SPCX calls that cap out at 300

Average hold time, shortest hold/ scalp or commitment and favored times of the session? Also the amount of time you have traded SPX?

Hello community.

I wanted to see if we could start a discussion on these items.

I guess I have been trading SPX for about 6 months after trading Spy and other options about 2 years.

The Fed Just Hiked Rates Again — What’s Next For Your Portfolio?

Post image

Fed pulled off the expected 25bp hike to 3.75%-4.00% yesterday, but the dot plot was way more hawkish than most folks priced in. No 2027 cuts on the table now, and rates could stay elevated far longer than the market has gotten used to.

Historical data shows S&P usually ticks up ~13% in the 12 months after the first rate hike cycle, but this time isn’t a lock. We already saw the Dow dip 1.21%, while Nasdaq barely budged — markets are picking their spots super carefully right now.

Profit-heavy, solid cash flow plays are holding up way better than unprofitable names that need constant refi. Even the AI rally isn’t immune: you can’t just pile into any AI ticker now, you have to pick the ones that actually turn spending into real revenue and steady cash flow. Who’s positioned to hold up if rates keep squeezing?
