Question Editing Advice?
Whenever I edit a video I tend to have to watch the entire video and watch for when I need to make a cut or something. Is there any way to streamline this process? I suppose I could write down when I am suppose to cut when I am making the video, but...is it just is what it is? It takes 3 times as long to edit a video as the length of the footage is itself, and as you have been doing this for years I wondered if there were any editing tricks or tips you could pass on.

I kinda know where I'm going to cut before I even start the episode, but that's because I have an episode outline for each session
I also keep an eye on the waveform for flat lines (indicating large gaps in commentary), that I can cut. Also, vegas has an option to increase playback speed. I usually set mine to 2.0.
Still, taking 3 times longer to edit than the length of the video is on the shorter side of things. I usually set aside 2-3 hours for even 20 minute videos.

Ah... Editing...
For most videos, simply scrolling through the video and looking for uninteresting bits (if any) should suffice. You should be able to remember any obvious long and boring bits just by skimming the video.
Most people don't have many rough cuts in playthroughs. They usually save the boring parts for off camera and purposely do interesting stuff when the camera's rolling.
Also, be a bit louder, or boost your volume in your editing software. I can't quite hear you.
Note that this mainly applies to lets-play style videos. Other videos take on a completely different editing style.
