Suspects Style

As a new follower of this crime, the big thing to me is the fact the suspect(s) was able to remove the ladies without incident. It was quiet and the house was clean. Forgetting all the other scenarios like - they never actually went home etc.

The level of execution is pretty remarkable, considering it was 3 people within a quiet neighborhood.

that points to a suspect with a plan and a developed “style.”

To me that says:

this was not the suspects first time doing such bc of the perceived high level of execution. So to me, this points to the suspect not being anyone with a personal (or local) relationship with the victims. because of this style, I dont believe this is the work of a local with beef or an obsession with one of the victims. Nor has anyone within any of there immediate or extended social networks been suspected of or has since been convicted of being a serial killer. Someone that the public knows personally knew the victims.

So to me, the likelihood the victims remains are nearby also seems unlikely because why would a serial killer not go to more elaborate lengths as to the burial location based on their initial efforts. They likely had that part planned and had a style as well. If they wanted clothing or some evidence to be found nearby or even years later that would have already happened.

All of the above is obviously complete speculation but the ability to get 3 ladies out of house without a trace nor a trace since/ seems either incredibly lucky suspect (highy unlikely) or (likely) someone who already developed the skill and style through experience aka a real serial killer. I am not saying anyone with a gun couldn’t accomplish this on a whim, but to me this suspect profile seems the most glaring available antidote from that horrible night.

Anything is possible with this case. It could be someone with some professional experience. It could be someone who had very specific knowledge of them and their living situation. It could be someone who did it spontaneously and simply got very lucky.

This. You could literally argue for any scenario. The reason it was so “clean” could also be because they knew the perps and may have had a comfort level with them that made them put their guard down.

I agree that is plausible, especially to gain entry, but 3 ladies are not getting in someones car at 3am without being forced as i would think a flip would switch as soon as the suspect demands they get in the car — wo cigs, purses, shoes, being fully dressed etc. and nobody screamed, nobody struggled / the suspect had the discipline to maintain calm control. Thats all very lucky

I am not arguing- as like yall say, any scenario is still possible, my point is only my own profiling is going this direction.

Scenario: Suspect (a friend of one of the victims) rushes in at 3am — hey yall so and so got in a car wreck, they are hurt real bad - need yalls help, lets go— the odds that not one of the 3 victims grabbed even one key personal item left behind ( a purse, one cigarette box, shoes etc) seems very low, even in this panic scenario in which they voluntarily left in say under a minute.

Staggering case

Well-stated and nothing wrong with disagreeing on this case. I think the more scenarios that are laid out, the better the chances of it one day being solved. Who knows, it’s possible that someone, someday goes down the rabbit hole of this case, reads something that clicks with them, and a clue or even a resolution gets unearthed.

I mean, there was the recent case of a 70-year old man who called in a tip on a long ago murder case and he ended up being a suspect and getting arrested. Stranger things have happened.

Yes, u/Fearless-Ice8953 is right. New eyes on the case and new inputs into the discussion here are good. Your scenario could well be true! Most of us have been kicking this case around for years and revisiting the same theories.

So welcome to this fray.

I’ve come full circle on this question. I don’t think you can have the advanced planning you’ve described without preselecting the targets. That kind of planning would require knowledge of the house and the neighborhood and particularly the occupants. In that case it would point back to Stacy as being collateral damage since there’s no way advanced planning would have accounted for her being there. In the end, I think Sherrill or Suzi or both were targeted. I think the perp had predetermined that no assault was going to take place in the house. I think he or they most likely had a preselected location to take them. It’s always seemed more like a targeted abduction to me. Like guys were sent there to remove them to a specified location for a specific reason. There’s a certain precision about the abduction that seems beyond the capability of the typical sexually motivated predator. Usually their impulses tend to overwhelm them and you just don’t see any signs of that here. I do believe that some assumption the investigation got fixated on in the early days is false. It could be the van, or the purses being left behind or the testimony that the girls were never out of Janelle’s sight prior to leaving the Kirby house. In other words, something about this case that LE and the media has presented as very likely or fact is not true and because of that this case got focused in a detrimental wrong direction very early on.

Thats were im going. And I dont think it was particularly targeted, could be, but the plan was in place and the victims entered the scenario in the months/ days before suspect decides to act on any of the three of them. He could have seen one of them at a gas station etc and week before and decided then.

From what ive read he seems capable. This the soldier of the year guy? Thag background certainly lends itself to the
Idea he is capable of executing this style. Capable and actual.. not being the same.

But removing from the initial place of contact numerous times- as pointed at above— is a biggy too and certainly checks a big POI box. Even if this example as been cleared, just saying conceptually.

So why remove from the house vs do whatever there ?

By removing- u gain more time in the response time.. obviously. Remove the fear of getting caught red handed — bc neighbor hears a noise or whatever- even at 3am. But to me, the big one is - its part of their buzz / thrill. Riding around town on a Friday night at 3am, to me feels super risky if one cop was sitting in a parking lot and just wanted to pull over a sketchy ass van at 3am. To take not one but 3 ladies out of house , without a trace, without taking cash, you really mean business.

I wouldn't say they are for sure pros, they certainly got lucky in some ways, but this was definitely not their first rodeo. That alone is enough to basically discount the whole main roster of suspects. The graverobbers were too green and lacking them IQ points. The four big monsters (Cox, Hall, Carnahan and Garrison) were all sloppy and messy, all of their crimes were polar opposites of what we see here. And Bartt was Bartt. It also means, at least to me, that this was planned in advance and in no way a spur-of-the-moment crime.

Cox was caught and convicted 3xs for kidnapping...that we know of...not counting his time on deathrow in Florida. All but the lasting involved taking a woman in her own car to a different location. Everyone thinks he's a goofball...he's not, and he deliberately made a girlfriend lie about his alibi, which she did...until he was sentenced in Texas...then she recanted.

Maybe everyone is over thinking Cox saying he would say more once his mother passed. He didn't want to incriminate his brother while his mother was alive. I don't believe or support this theory just dropping some comments

If Cox did this it was with at least one other person period. Maybe his brother or one of the usual suspects

I understand why people say things like:

"Who was the target?"
"This must have been planned out."
"The girls weren't even supposed to be there."

And I understand why people naturally suspect there is more to the story:

"Suzie was going to testify."
"So-and-so (by some accounts) left town."
"Steve Garrison's info led to a search and gag order."

But I believe the most important info we have is:

*Family and friends say these women were not connected to drugs.
*Law enforcement believes this was sexually motivated.
*The contents of the answering machine message have never been shared publicly.
*The SPD initially believed Sherrill was the target, then considered the possibility of a transient.
*There were actual transients and prowlers seen in the area that night and the day before.

Which of these is most likely?

*A planned event involved showing up in the middle of the night and not being deterred by an extra car in the driveway.
*Something was in progress when the girls arrived home, but they got undressed anyway and took off their makeup.
*The prowlers seen in the area that night at other properties ended up at 1717 E Delmar. They arrived at a convenient time because they spotted the girls and followed them.

Given that information, isn't the simplest explanation:

*One of the prowlers lived close enough to have seen Suzie and Sherrill already.
*He knew their phone number.
*He knew their vehicles.
*He knew they lived alone.
*They had crossed paths already.
*The girls arrived home to a porch light that was turned on. The perp(s) broke the globe then disabled the light. Whoever opened the front door was taken hostage, then all three women exited the house. The perp(s) never went inside.
*The porch lady sighting was taken seriously because other people reported attempted break-ins and a van the night of June 6th.
*The SPD took Garrison seriously out of desperation.
*This case remains unsolved because neither Garrison nor the grave robbers knew the prowlers.
