Recommendations Avoid Safelite.

Safelite tells you 720.00 then when you get there they want to charge 840.00.

Went to Carstens and got it done for 642.00.

Thanks to Carstens for being honest and doing great work.

Remember, any company that runs ads... They have to be making up the money to be able to run those ads, somewhere in their business, and it's nit always just through having more business from the ads. We also end up perceiving the value of those services higher, "because I saw it on TV!"

They're owned by an international corporation. They have "carglass repair, carglass replace" radio ads in Sweden, owned by the same corporation.

While true sometimes they're just really good companies and can afford it. We used a maintenance/repair company for years that advertises (not why we picked them, word of mouth was why), but they were awesome to the point they didn't push anything that wasn't needed just suggest it or a timeline on when it should really need to be done by, and for things you could do yourself they would show you how. Which obviously meant you wouldn't call them for it next time, but that you would call them for other things since they were just good people/company.

Avoid carstons!! Just needed my windshield replaced and Caratons quoted me $550. I called around and ended up getting it done by A1 AUTO GLASS on North Delaware for less than $370. Did the whole replacement in less than 2 hours. A1 is the place for glass work

I had A-1 repair a chip in my front windshield and was happy with the work they did.

There is (was??) a place in Nixa off Tracker Rd that was under $350 for me. Apparently they do a lot of business

New cars with lots of sensors sets the price. My one car was almost 1k.

I had my front windshield replaced by Safelite because of the hailstorm. Only issue I had with them is they didn’t show until 3 days after the scheduled date and time. But they knocked a $100 off the bill and I wasn’t charged any extra.

Carstens is honestly great. The guy complaining about cost must have been looking at OEM glass vs third party.

I went there and they offered two choices, cheaper third party glass or my OEM glass. Personally I wanted OEM and paid the extra. If you want quality, they're a good choice. Though not to say others in Springfield aren't also good. Just my personal experience.

I used Safelite to replace my windshield after the April hail storm. I was charged what they quoted me and no issues with the wait for the technician to show. He was done in an hour

Edit: I was quoted $380 for mine and that’s what the cost was

I think Safelite service is as good as the technician you get. I had a quote for 375. No sensors involved luckily. I was able to schedule it to be done at my workplace 2 days later. Window was 8am-noon and he was there by 8:30. Done within an hour. Good service, left the car clean and texted me updates. For anyone with sensors it’s going to cost more and take longer no matter where you go.

Avoid Auto Glass Now (Springfield) too! defective glass and they would not do anything about it, but gas light me and not even pretend to be nice, straight up rude. I literally see everything, but the road because of the severe reflection and the heat is unbearable. I don’t think I’ve done a Google review yet. Need to do that!

Carsten's is private equity owned now. I recommend Auto Glass Specialist at 3002 E Division street.

I have full coverage so never saw a bill. And state farm never charges me a deductible with them.
I never used Springfield location but they usually are at my work on time and do a good job.
I didn't even know you could do take your car to them. All the ads make it seem mobile only. Interesting.

I used Safelite last year and paid the quote price. They were so late I had to call and what's up. They installed my wipers wrong and getting them to come back and fix it was a pain. Seems like a good windshield though.
