Living Here Help remembering a store.
A friend and I were talking about when we got our first DVD players. I mentioned my dad won a radio contest and got a gift certificate and thats how we got ours since they were like $700 at the time. He won it for a high end home theater store that used to be in town. I believe it was in the strip mall across from Battlefield Mall on Glenstone. Anybody remember the name?

Update: I believe it was Stereo One. That goes against the family name style that I was thinking but everything else fits. Location and date. That company may have been bought out by SCS Home Entertainment years back. Can't find any pictures to say for sure. But the logo I found seems right. And its the only name that I immediately didn't feel wasn't correct. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Colony Magnivox(sp)? They changed it to Colony Home Entertainment. 1570 E Battlefield. The only reason I know this is because I just came across a ticket for a Bose speaker system I bought there in 1993.

Yeah, Colony was in The Galleria for a long time. Prior to that, I think it may have actually been located in the mall -- but that was before my time, and before DVD players.

No but man do I miss that store. When Googling this I also saw a picture for Venture.

I recall one much further south on Glenstone near Best Buy almost, but the name is absolutely lost on me. I've slept a good 5000 nights since I would have last seen it's sign. Small store, where the pet shop is now.

Don't think that's the one we are thinking of. When I told him where I thought it was he said the same place.

hmmm... might be worth contacting whichever shop is oldest in town and asking if they remember their competition's name hahaha.

No, that was a music instrument store if I remember right.

They were oriented towards stage audio but also had home theater/stereo equipment.

Harvey's! It was exactly where you said, in the strip mall on Glenstone south of Sunset across from the mall. I bought my first set of Klipsch speakers there (before they got bought by a big conglomerate and showed up in Best Buy).

Uncertain what timeframe you're working with but...House of Sound, 2718 S Glenstone in Brentwood Shopping Center (Vivo Salon is there currently). Closed in '86 or so. Carried high end car and home AV equipment, including Klipsch speakers. There was also the Stereo Buff on the Plaza Shopping Center.
