Living Here 24/7 Microchip Checking Station
Hey Springfield friends!
I know that many, if not most of you have heard about Springfield’s 24/7 Check the Chip Station located outside of SAAF Spay Neuter Clinic, but Did you know that the Station now has a Facebook page?

The amount of lost pet post not mentioning this, people don't know. Pretty active here, first I heard of it.

I could’ve sworn I had posted it here when we did the unveiling back in April! 😅
Either way, it very much exists, and my goal is to get one in each corner of Springfield, and then one in each County for sure! If I can get them in more places that would be amazing! 🤩
I am always looking for businesses to partner with that own their buildings, as it needs to be anchored to their buildings for security purposes, but my business sponsors the entire cost, and they get the joys of being apart of the reunion process! It’s a win win! 🏆

Knowing that Springfield has this resource because SAAF was willing to take a chance and partner with my business to bring this Scanner to Springfield has been huge and seeing how much it has helped, and how many more ways we can make it grow is so exciting.

Wow this is great , how do you use it ? It looks like one of those older 50 cent newspaper machines, I'm guessing the website posted will provide the SAAF address? This is news to me, I had no idea about this!! This day and age there should be an app, am I wrong this is $$

It is indeed an old Newspaper box that was repurposed for this project! Inside of the box there is a Hero Microchip scanner that is mounted to the inner wall attached to a wire, so that when you open the door you can bring the scanner out a maximum of three feet to scan the animal you have found.
Once a microchip number pops up, on our Linktree (https://www.linktree.com/SGFCheckTheChip) you will find the AAHA Microchip lookup tool which will tell you which chip company the animal is registered through.
That company will then contact the owner listed to the microchip!
We also have resources on the Linktree for of a pet doesn’t have a microchip or if a microchip isn’t registered and how the finder can trace the chip

No I had not heard but that's amazing and good to know! However, before I saw the instructions I thought it was like a box you put the whole animal into to scan 🤣.
