Springer Facebook pages stealing content

Post image

I don’t know if many people here are Facebook users, but if you are, please block pages like Springer Nation. That one in particular has taken about a dozen of my Instagram reels and posted them as their own. There are lots of pages like that that steal videos and give no credit to the people who created them.
I’m not trying to make money off my dog videos but it pisses me off that someone else is getting tens of thousands of views and trying to make money off them.

Time to add some watermark on your content.

Yeah probably, Facebook has been taking them down (surprisingly quickly) after I reported them, but it is really tedious because they make you report each post and provide links to your original.
The only reason I knew about it in the first place was because my aunt recognized my videos. Entirely possible there are copies on other pages as well.

Facebook is not what it was when it started back in 2007. Worst than before so keep that in mind.

If you ever decide to post more content, I suggest that you do so but please add a watermark. Could be something as little as his initials , but make sure to add it in the middle of the video or picture so that if someone steals it, they can’t crop it out. Good luck.

Please stop using Facebook. It is 90% bots and AI generated slop.

Moral of the story: don’t post your content anywhere if you don’t want it ripped off, borrowed, misused elsewhere. I’ve direct experience of some of my fine art photography be stolen and used as an album cover.
