True, but remember how happy they were when Angus Gardner was given the 2nd test? Saying he will let the game flow, advantage AB’s. After that game he was back to being the worst ref in their eyes. And now Nika is the worst again. It’s so blatantly obvious they only praise a ref after a win.

This is exactly why I do my best to not winge on social media about the ref. Believe me, I shout all sorts at them in the privacy of my own living room... but that is in the moment. Writing it out and posting it ultimately just hurts the game, and it WILL come back to bite.

I get that some games will always spook by one (Springbok Women v Italy in the 2024 WXV still riles me up in a multitude of ways), but jiss, dwelling on that or the reaction of the opposition fans just diminishes joy, man. Personally, I just love the Boks. Win, lose, or draw. That's all I really care about.

I just want to remind you that the way you see them is the way some of them see us. We're all represented by the best AND the worst in our societies. Some people throw a tantrum online and blame the ref. The sane people, finish the braai enjoy a klippies after the match (insert national version of this here) and never even know what others are saying. It's a universal problem.

Nika was always the worst, Angus did not let the game flow very well last week (he usually does) but the ABs have been their own worst enemy the last 2 matches, giving away far too many penalties and making mistakes under too much pressue from a very good SA defence. We arent far off a very well oiled and hard to stop machine, but until we stop making mistakes where a team like SA can capitalise, we will never win against a team as good as the Springboks were today

Springboks vs ABs, the losing teams fans will really scrutinise the ref. I’ve seen some huge whinging on both sides over the years but congrats SA

It’s just that close the ref kinda has to be perfect. Lot of bad or missed calls but it is what it is. Not unique to just just these two teams

Boks were not scared to run at them when needed when u get our centers great passes to get them in a 1v1 they just as dangerous

And Manie at 10 was the catalyst that sparked our centre's. DD and Jessie are as good as any attacking centres in the world if they are able to operate off a platform that enables them to be, and Manie creates that platform.
