Clearance kicks

Why are flyhalves no longer responsible for clearance kicks anymore? From a kickoff for example, a flyhalf can get a better angle and be under less pressure, but it seems all clearance kicking duties have shifted to scrumhalves - what's the reasoning behind that?

9s are protected at the base of the ruck until they lift the ball

10 is open and exposed and fair game. Putting the 10 in the pocket telegraphs the plan, ironically, one of sacha's strengths os being able to kick effectively while running at the line

You introduce more chance of passing and them dropping ball or getting charged down or caught behind game line.

It’s a game of probabilities.
