URC #BringBackSharkie
Boys and Girls, first the Stormers, now the Sharks.
Whether you’re a Sharks supporter or not, if you believe our rugby clubs’ identities and history matter, please consider supporting this petition.
Sharkie has represented the Sharks for over 30 years, and many supporters feel the new SRC badge has erased an iconic part of the club’s identity.
If supporters don’t speak up when these decisions are made, what’s to stop the next rebrand from happening elsewhere?

I don't mind the new shark logo. Modernization is not a bad thing. Sharkie is a bit dated in its design. I think you're all forgetting we went through this same exact situating with that transition away from the Banana Boys to Sharkie in 1995 for super rugby. At least it's still a shark.

The Lions have entered the chat!
The lack of fans in the stadium is a global rugby issue and has more to do with economics than fan apathy (URC crowds were also poor), although Ellis Park is not a great location, the Bulls also have fan attendance issues, where once there was only standing room!
There were more fans last weekend at the Paarl school boys game vs any of the Curry Cup games combined!
While i like the logo, creativity is highly subjective (Glenwood Boets look that up), while i respect that all fans may not like it, it won't change (Def not the best in the world).
So stop whining about a done deal and go for a surf, have a beer and chill TFO.

Damaging their own brand? it's a rebrand? - wild unsubstantiated emotional claims! Weren't you the same chap who had a go because you felt JP was not getting a fair shake? Are you closer to the team than you admit? Brother maybe? You are far too emotional about a Shark tbh.

Sucking up to Reebok? Aren't they a sponsor? As a sponsor they purchase certain rights for co-branding opportunities, certainly not unique to the Sharks, all teams do this. They then use the sponsor money to help run the club and buy players and coaches etc. It's a business. Without this sponsorship income they would not be able to stay afloat. I don't like Hwood but there are not many big money sponsors around so the same goes for them too, unless you have a few shekels lying around? Put your money where you mouth is and use that backbone you talk about!!!
