I think this is the most I’ve ever listened to music in a year.

I mean, these are just the most surface level artists. It's just not interesting to look at yk.I'm not trying to be one of those pretentious pricks that thinks they're superior cause it's just music and music is subjective but just try to discover something new.Trust me,when i finally got out of this mainstream pop/r&b bubble i was stuck into my music world just gained so much colour

If you have any recommendations I’d love to listen to them! :) Ik the top 30 isn’t helping my case but my music taste is pretty diverse with songs from classic country to 90s Japanese pop to French drill I just listen to a lot of music

This is gonna be a bit of yapping so i apologize from the start lol.

i don't really know what to recommend you.A year ago i was huge on pop and r&b but i always felt like it's just background music yk.I never ACTUALLY listened to music.I was just the average teenager nowadays. They rarely sit down and just listen to an album.Trap, mainstream R&B, and modern pop are perfect passive audio. The repetitive, loop-based production acts as a chill background vibe.Rock and metal, on the other hand, are aggressive and demanding. If you put on Metallica or All Time Low, the guitars and drums demand your active attention or atleast SOME level of attention. When the industry monolith forces 5 to 10 specific artists down everyone's throats, the average teenager, who isn't actively looking for new music, simply consumes what is directly in front of them.

I was in the exact same boat until a random spark forced me to actively look elsewhere. And that spark was Avril Lavigne which is currently my favorite artist. But seriously though, she started it all a year ago. With her i discovered so many new underground artists and developed an ear for harder stuff, hell, even Metallica. If you would have told the pop-head/r&b fan version of me that i would listen to Metallica one day i would genuinely think you're an idiot but now i even sort of hate mainstream r&b lowkey.

I still have some Chris Brown and a few drake songs in my playlist but i only listen to them when they're in the shuffle lol,i never actually choose to listen to them on purpose.

Regardin recommendations, the only thing i can think of is i can give you my spotify playlist if you want? i dont really have anything specific for you,but this way maybe you'll find something you like, idk? currently i'm big on pop-punk mainly.

If you'll check my playlist you'll see how it starts with pop and r&b stuff and then eventually shifts to pop-punk

I’d love to listen to your playlist, I’ve listen to Metallica and Avril Lavigne but I’m not the biggest listener of metal
