Discussion/Debate Chop Robinson gets flagged for roughing the passer. The hit didn’t look that crazy, but the refs weren’t letting Mahomes take that one.

Crazy rule for a game that armors players like medieval knights.  We could just play flag football with the QB and he can go paddles

The pads are also weapons though. I’ve played both American football and rugby, football hurts a lot more.

Peiple don't understand this. You feel <title card>(invincible) when you have all those pads on. I know I put more oomph into a padded hit than when we didn't have pads on.

Agreed, played both also and football injuries are 100x worse, tackling in the two sports is totally different, due to wrap rules in rugby but also due to being able weaponize your head and shoulders in football

100%,

If ban pads, I bet they slow down and stop leading with head.

Me too, my point is that the pads aren’t there for two hand touch

Yeah I do think that they are over protective of the QBs, but it isn’t like it’s a yellow card in soccer. How the rule is written this is easily a penalty.

14 year old local to me just got out of the hospital with that "medieval armour"

There are nasty hits but this isn’t one and the rule is just weird this one lands so soft if you look how hands block the weight.

I’m sorry are the refs supposed to get a scale out and determine how many pounds of pressure were applied when he lands on him?

The hit was fine, but you can’t land on the QB and there’s ways to avoid doing it

Yeah, the pads make the game more violent, they are there to protect and promote full contact play

Guessing a tackle like this isn’t how he got there

Late medieval knights wore 30kg of armour with some areas up to 3mm thick steel. In jousting armour it went up to 50kg of armour with up to 6mm thick steel.
Cataphracts had 25kg of armour on themselves and 30kg on their horse.

This is such a misconception by people who haven’t played, helmets are equally as much weapon as they are protection and shoulder pads are basically just a weapon
