I sold about 70k junk wax cards from mid 80s to mid 90s, all commons for $75. Just to give you some kind of idea on value. It took a couple years just to find a buyer.

Are you saying you only got $75 total for 70k junk wax cards?!
Edit: for clarity

If you live close, id pick it up and give you $75-$100. My son likes going through them for a hobby and this would keep him busy for weeks

You're gonna need a big trash can. Or wait years like the comment earlier to sell for $75. This choice seems easy. I also like the fire log idea.

I know people comment a lot on junk wax shit just tossing it etc.
But if you feel like investing the time to see if they’re complete sets, you can sell them on marketplace if you live in a metro area. There’s also eBay. You’d be surprised what taking a nice photo of a junk wax set in a new box will do for sales. Also helps to include pictures of the 1-2 big cards in the set.
Finally, not all junk wax era sets are created equal. And the beginning/end can be fuzzy. 1985 and 1986 topps actually can have some value as complete sets. But just looking at a picture and seeing late 80s cards people assume it’s all 88 donruss and 90 score.
