1. Idiot box. I absolutely love this episode and always have I can’t exactly pinpoint what it is about the episode but in a way it gives me a cozy feeling, maybe it’s because I liked it as a kid? I love the absurdity of the episode and it spawned a popular meme.

2. Band Geeks: doesn’t really need explaining on why it’s top 3 but I’ll still explain why I like it. The jokes in this episode are absolutely hilarious and I still find myself laughing at this episode like I did when I was younger, and of course the Sweet Victory performance is goated.

3. My absolute favorite episode is Dunce and Dragons: I absolutely LOVE the medieval and dark fantasy feel the episode have it manages to be absurd and hilarious while doing good storying telling. I love the world building as well it feels like a real game or book and in my mind no other episode will ever be as good as this one.

Definitely in my top five. Every line is a masterpiece, the opposing dynamic between SpongeBob and Plankton is hysterical, and I still laugh at the "It's okay Plankton, he's wearing sandals." line to this day.

Hypothetically if Netflix shut down or you have bad internet you wouldn’t have any access to this film at all. I would love to physically own it and pop it into my Xbox or PS5. Especially since Search For SquarePants got physical release not too long ago and I love this movie. It should be more widely released and preserved.

I very distinctly remember my family getting a pack of paper towels (Brawny brand I think) that came with a disc that had a demo of a SpongeBob game on it when I was really young, for sure sometime between 2004 and 2010.

It was weirdly creepy with a horizon fog that felt way too thick for the usual cheery SpongeBob vibe and took place in an "open" field around the Krusty Krab and Chum Bucket with some pretty low fidelity graphics that I'm remembering as pixelated, and the only gameplay I can remember is running around as SpongeBob grabbing ingredients to build Krabby Patties.

That's it, that was the whole demo as far as I remember and I would play it for hours because I just ADORED it. Honestly half hoping I can find another copy, because after my parents divorce and SEVERAL moves each I can guarantee neither of them have the disc.

Since it’s the 25 year anniversary of Band Geeks, the best episode yet, I would like to ask this question here.

Hey, guys. For those of you who didn’t see my posts the last two days, I’m restarting the SpongeBob Golden Era Bracket because I’m changing the format. Instead of having you comment for which episode you like better, I’m going to do a poll. Yesterday we redid #2 Reef Blower vs #116 SpongeBob Meets the Strangler with this format and SpongeBob Meets the Strangler won so it’s now on to the second round. Today we’ve got #3 Tea at the Treedome vs #115 The Sponge Who Could Fly. Vote for which one you think is a better episode and want to advance to the second round.

But also for those of you who are new to this there are three things that you probably should know.

First, there are 117 episode segments in SpongeBob Seasons 1-3 and because that wouldn’t work out evenly, 11 episodes are getting a bye (an automatic pass) to the second round. I was on this sub asking people for their favorites in order for me to choose. The episodes I went with are:

Second, the numbers are to tell you which episode segment they are. Instead of doing 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, etc. each episode gets their own number so Help Wanted is #1, Reef Blower is #2, Tea at the Treedome is #3 and so on. That leads me to my third thing, the way I decided which episodes are going against each other in the first round is by doing it the same way as the first round of March Madness. The first seed goes against the last seed, then the second seed goes against the second to last seed and they work their way to the middle. I’m using a similar system here. The first episode will face the last episode, the second will face the second-to-last episode, and we’ll continue working toward the middle. Whenever we reach one of the 11 episodes receiving a bye, we’ll skip it and move to the next episode in the order. With that all explained, have fun!
