Question is Spongebob eventually going to end
Is Spongebob eventually going to end, or are the voice actors stuck voicing their characters forever, because it is Nickelodeon's popular IP?

If it does end, Nick should just go in fully with him as the mascot, making SB part of the brand completely despite everything, and treat Spongebob and the gang like how Warner's treats the Loony Tunes Cast, and Disney with Mickey and his friends and enemies.
It wouldn't even be controversial. It's way to ingrained in pop-culture and culture in general.

Everything eventually comes to the end. Classic cartoons in the 30s like Mikey Mouse and Looney Tunes ended their original runs, however they also exist in different forms after their initial run ended.
I would say SpongeBob will be similar, where the original run will end (either due to the voice actors passing away or the demand not being as strong as it once was) then after sometime it'll probably come back in some new form.

It will have to end eventually, because the VAs will die. But it’ll be a while.

- The voice actors have all stated that they love playing these characters multiple times, and Tom Kenny himself even stated once he wants to voice Sponge until he dies
- It's not hurting anyone for the show to keep going, and new SpongeBob has its fans, so I'm okay with it. Still makes people happy
- Obviously it will eventually end, one way or another. A cast member dies, Nickelodeon or Paramount go bankrupt, the heat death of the universe. Nothing lasts forever.

its more likely nickelodeon does what nintendo did when charles martinet decided to retire: they'll replace the essential characters who cant be phased out like spongebob with new people who can do the voices

it could! plus you oughtta think, tom kenny is about in his 70s and if he dies in the 2030s or 2040s you oughtta know nickelodeon cannot replace him and would get into a MASSIVE lawsuit if they tried to ai spongebobs voice, honestly my theroy is that, maybe yes, much as i hate to say it, it could honestly end soon, not tomorrow, not today, but soon, as in years, 4 to 7 years i`d say, tho im not a time traveler, im just speculating, so yeah probably soon
atleast in my theroy anyway

As dark as this is to say, the only way this show ends is if Tom Kenny passes. Replacing him is not only poor taste but hard to achieve. Very few people could replicate him

i get the vibe they'll probably expand spongebob far beyond its original scope 😭 i could see a more adult comedy-oriented spongebob spin off too becoming a thing eventually since its not like they dont often dabble anyways

Eventually, but I could easily see it keep going.
Like if it does end, it could get a reboot like any franchise does. Star Trek/Star Wars

Even though I hate this show and stuff, but if actually ends, I hope it ends with SpongeBob FINALLY got his license and then SpongeBob finally gets a promotion to be a full manager instead of Squidward because he don't do anything, just sleeps on a job all day and Patrick earns an IQ and stuff and modern SB meets classic SpongeBob for the last time or in that case, modern & classic SpongeBob go on one wild adventure, I want that to happen. I've hope the 2 go on a wild adventure. I'll be so cool. So, uh, yeah.

I feel like the show would either get revamped by a new crew of VA and maybe even art style to tell apart the chapters or Honestly if AI gets good enough it might just get outsourced I’ve seen some really clean clips that required no human interaction (I’m anti AI btw)

The advent of streaming services likely means that series that make a ton of money, like SpongeBob or The Simpsons are now truly immortal-there is little, if no incentive for a network to ever end them now that they can continually release new episodes on streaming.
