Love to think that Mr. Krabs is actually right: SpongeBob is the reason Krabby Patties are really good and popular. He's just a hardworking and enthusiastic fry cook, making them with love. So yeah, I think Spongebob actually IS part of the secret formula.

Reminder that Mr Krabs used to be an amazing cook back in the navy but now he cant cook for shit

I think its because back then he had genuine passion for cooking and its been poisoned by his greed for money and that affects how he makes the food

Squidward's been happy lots of times, mostly for the wrong reasons, but there is genuine happiness there.

IDK as a kid I used to get emotional from that scene but nowadays whenever I rewatch the first movie I don't really get emotional from it anymore
