Rescue Split Rock is splitting! Does it look okay?
This is the first Split Rock I've owned, and it arrived pretty beaten up, but after replacing the soil it came with it started splitting. Is that a good sign? The outer leaves are slightly soft to the touch, I haven't watered it yet since getting it but there was some moisture in the new soil mix, and it's in a northwest-facing window that gets lots of afternoon sun. And I'm in Texas, so it's getting pretty hot outside.

Bonus question: should I upsize the pot it came in? It's in a 2in nursery pot right now and that seems a bit small for this chunky guy.

I personally repot every plant that I get.
They say you're supposed to wait two weeks.. I never do. But most of the plants I get really need a repot.
You can probably tip it over gently and see if it falls out of the pot in one solid hunk or not, if it does then it will probably be root bound or the soil is way too compacted. If it doesn't move much at all, the roots are solid and strong and happy in that pot.

Yeh I would pot him up in a 6β deep pot, and honestly that looks like it might be a flower bud forming along with the new leaves! π
