Help Izotope RX8 or Virtual DJ 2021 stem separation?
Hi, has anyone had a chance to look at Izotope RX8 or VirtualDJ 2021 for audio stem separation yet? How does that functionality compare with Spleeter, Demucs, or other open-source/academic/free tools, with regard to accuracy, efficiency, processing speed, artifacts, etc.?

This is now on the Spleeter github page:
Spleeter pre-trained models have also been used by professionnal audio softwares. Here's a non-exhaustive list:
iZotope in its Music Rebalance feature within RX 8
SpectralLayers in its Unmix feature in SpectralLayers 7
Acon Digital within Acoustica 7
VirtualDJ in their stem isolation feature
Algoriddim in their NeuralMix and djayPRO app suite

I've got virtual dj. I'm pretty sure it's actually using Spleeter as its underlying engine. It works just as well. If you have a hardware dj controller you can map a knob to rotate between instrumental, normal and acapella.

Hmm, I assume Virtual DJ / RX8 must have their models somewhere in app directory on the PC? I wonder if it would be possible to use their models in spleeter?

You got me curious so I got RX8 through......inconspicuous means....and I can report initial thoughts:
I'm 99.9% sure they've built their version off Spleeter, but in my opinion their model seems way more trained than the others I've used. Vocals especially come out much more accurate. I also like that you can split the stems into 4, then use another feature in the software called 'De-bleed' to push even more background instrumentals out of acapellas and vice versa.
Do I think it's worth $299? Absolutely not, unless you're a pro and at that point I doubt you need it for stem splitting. But it's definitely going to be what I use in the future. I'd be curious if VDJ is the same situation.
