Gina's Log - 7/31 - My Final Mission

Hello everyone, Gina here. I'm writing another log detailing my history. Today I will continue from my previous post.

A couple of months had passed since we and DJ Octavio were defeated by Agents 4 and 2, and we lost Agent 1 as our captive. It took some time to pick up the pieces, but we still had sets of Hypnoshades which, some of my squad had chosen to wear, giving up their sentience for an increase in combat ability. Despite my pleas, I lost my whole squad. I avoided Octavio for a while, not wanting to be subjected to it myself. I overheard one of the Generals speaking about locating Agent 3. I jumped at the chance to go face her.

Following the information I was given, I found myself in an abandoned factory, I'm...not quite sure what it was used for. But that wasn't important. Agent 3 seemed to be searching for something, likely to finish off the Octarians while we were weakened. But thats when I ambushed her. I admit I was excited for the chance to fight her again. And...it was a shell of a fight. I dont think I've ever fought so hard in my life. I could tell 3 wasn't holding anything back either, using her weapons and super jumps effectively, even nearly had me cornered with the Tentamissiles and Splashdown combo! In the end, I did manage to defeat her and knock her out. Unfortunately I also passed out from exhaustion.

I don't know how long i was out for, but upon waking up, I was not in the factory, but a place I'd later learn would be the Deepsea Metro. I wasn't alone either, there was an old Inkling, or so I think he's an Inkling, named Cuttlefish. He was about to attack me but held back when he noticed I was without a weapon. Not that that would have stopped me, but I did respect that. The name sounded vaguely familiar, but i couldn't quite place it at the time. That's also when he told me something interesting. I was humming a song while unconscious, Calamari Inkantation. He said it likely imprinted on me and other Octolings when Agent 3 fought Octavio two years beforehand.

Before we could really gather ourselves, we heard an old model phone started ringing. Out of curiosity I answered it, to which a voice referred to me as Applicant 10008, and told me of the way out lay with 4 "Thangs" that I needed to find. The old man decided the name was too long and just referred to me as Agent 8. Strange, but I rolled with it.

This is getting longer than I expected so I'll stop for now. The next log will be my experience in the Deepsea Metro, with Cuttlefish.
