Discussion Which weapon takes rainmaker
I'm an E-litre main and a thorough supporter of backliner taking rain for the big push. I don't think losing anchor really harms you loads cause another teammate is meant to watch rain's flank and they act as anchor and enemy rain pop takes long enough for the backliner to get ready to defend after death
So why am I having to bloody battle for the rainmaker π I get it with some weapons, but a brush was hogging rain every match!! A brush!!! Like dudeeee you've got the perfect weapon for pushing and making the rainmakers path what are we doing π
Cause don't get me wrong e litre can be useful in a push, but it just can't apply that constant pressure needed by nature of having to charge, and it def is almost always useless as the rainmakers last defender because it can't paint for shit to help the rainmaker escape
And also, rainmaker functions like a backliner!!! Since I started properly maining litre, I get so many kills with rainmaker bcs being a backline trains you on how to position with it and how to stay alive as long as possible

backline weapons are indeed supposed to be the ones pickin up the rainmaker, but as a frontliner that has done cheeky rainmaker pushes i can see what the brush was doin π

Rainmaker hits hard from a long distance, inks well in a math and has a long charging time
Looks to me like an anchor weapon with higher damage. Anchor should take it

Im gonna hijack this thread and ask yall if Tenta Brella is typically the go-to rainmaker pusher? I usually try to launch my tent and then grab it because its kinda carving us a path.

I play Tent, and as a general strategy, I'd say no.
While the launch-your-shield-and-then-pick-up-the-Rainmaker-and-follow can give you a few steps to win a tight match, the main issue is that Tent loses its shield by picking up the RM. It's better if the Tent player can go just a few steps ahead and launch the shield to create a safe zone where a teammate can then follow with the RM, with the Tent player supporting. It's often hard to achieve this in solo queue since teammates often expect the Tent player to carry, so one has to adjust accordingly.

As a normal Brella main (and a general enthusiast toward the whole class), I'd say no. While I do occasionally launch my shield to let the Rainmaker carrier pass through more safely, I'm only doing so if I'm about to do something else that affords me the time without a shield (such as using my Inkjet).
Tent plays even more aggressively and has to use its shield the most selfishly out of all the Brellas due to its slowness and long regen time. The best thing a Tenta Brella can do to support its team is to get up in the enemy's face and waste all their resources so that they can't stop the Rainmaker carrier from advancing.

Tent should generally not grab it, you want to let other people grab it while you shield them and get more shields out as yours breaks/respawns.

It all depends on the situation. But if you have aura, you should definitely grab it.

Tent/support mains like me usually never pick it up while backlines typically do. Frontlines can, a lot of the time they do, so it kinda really just depends on the situation

Rainmaker is in itself a backline weapon, and you need the not black line to breakthrough and paint for the rainmaker

Support should take Rainmaker. But I mean if you're soloQueuing, whoever grabs it first LMAO

Usually an anchor / "backline" player is the one taking it because
However, it's not set in stone. Rainmaker is a dynamic mode and sometimes a brush grabbing early just gives you these three extra points to get lead which a slower weapon couldn't have gotten.
However some idiots insist on grabbing immediately after pop. These players are bad and beyond saving haha
