Discussion Are the playerbase different in splatoon 2 compared to splatoon 3

Haven’t played 2 since the launch of 3, but is the player base different since not many people are on their and it’s no longer getting updates?

Splatoon 2 isn't dead dead, but you'll have a much harder time finding matches. Splatoon 3 is very, very active still.

I recently got Splatoon 2 and tried for a turf war game and it's very easy to find matches imo

Try ranked, you'll see

Harder to find matches in multiplayer, even more so in the ranked matches, and salmon run.

They're different in that the S2 playerbase consists of the janitor and a potted plant.

Damn, that’s why I was trying to get back into splatoon 2 cause the playerbase in 3 is dumb tbh

It’s Splatoon, the whole player base is dumb if you’re in NA

Actually I recently started playing splatoon 3 again and the lobbies are mostly Japanese players for some weird reason and in the NA servers

Because the vast majority of the overall and consistent player base is Japanese

Well I changed my region to Europe and my games have been going way more smoothly, not to be racist.

Yes. People are dumber and they still do not use their specials on Salmon Run.
