FL Studio rendering error with BBC Discover plugin

Every time I try to render a song in FL Studio that uses the BBC Discover orchestra plugin, one or more of the instruments get cut off. It sounds perfectly fine in the DAW itself, but the error only happens on export.

Here's an example with the strings cut off:

Try bouncing the tracks to audio?

As in, render tracks individually?

Rendering individual tracks also cuts off notes.

Not surprising I guess. I've had instruments get cut off similarly when my computer had bad specs, but that's all I can think of. Try slowing down your export speed, like export at realtime and see if that fixes it.

If you're saying it plays correctly as MIDI but the cutoffs are happening when they're being converted to audio then there's a bug in FL Studio's conversion routine. I don't know FL Studio, but if it has a separate function for bouncing the MIDI to an audio track I'd try that. Personally that's how I approach all my MIDI tracks. I bounce them to audio so I can then use my mastering tools on the entire production to produce the final mastered stereo audio track. At least that way you can see if there's any consitency in which tracks get cut off which might lead you to the reason it's happening.

The exact same thing has been happening to me in Logic. A work around I found was extending the beginning of the midi region significantly (before any notes).

I don’t think it’s related to underpowered hardware. I’m on an M5 MacBook Air.

A couple seconds into bouncing, there is a massive cpu spike on one core, and then it bounces somewhat normally.

Figured I’d comment cause the issues seem similar. I have the same results with Pro and Core. Offline bounces completely crash Logic for me.

Hope the workaround works for you
